Igor. Fantastic album, great pop music.

My friend loves this **** but i never got into it. I tend to not be into sprawling ten minute songs tho...
It's hardly an album I could blame anyone for not enjoying. It's very weird. You should read a little about it to put it into context, then give it another chance (and probably listen straight through with no other distractions).

Well...consider I'm about to turn 62 and this was what was going on when I was in my early 20's even if it wasn't as popular as the Rolling Stones and Journey. I just happened to be around then and it was the stuff I liked. Though there were several others I'd go to Bleecker Bob's was like my favorite record store of all time. The variety of new music that went through that shop was pretty astounding.

Bleeker Bob's was great. I used to sell my label's death metal records there.

Slipped Disc records on Long Island was my favorite. Going to these record stores back in the day was like being a kid going to a candy store. I remember having the entire Beatles collection at age 6. I wasn't even 10 years old and I was collecting records.

You talkin about Tyler the Creators new album? If so I 100% agree, it's probably my favorite album of the year so far.
Ya man it’s so good. Super infectious, love the shit he does with his voice throughout. Lot of hooks that sounds like they’re pulled out of an old Sega game for some reason too  love it tho. Pretty sure every song on the album has been stuck in my head at some point.

I have recently gotten back into the Interrupters (I love Aimee Allen), and also the Tsunami Bombs. One older, one newer.

I've also been listening to Ted Leo lately. Having come of age with the NY and DC punk scene, Ted is a must. He's up there with Ian MacKaye in terms of impact on my adolescence, and ultimately my worldview as an adult.

I remember later in my teenage years (I may have even been 21, it was Black Cat and I was drinking) I saw Bouncing Souls open for Goldfinger and then Rancid. It was still one of the greatest things I've seen. IIRC Goldfinger wasn't even advertised as the show (some rap-rock group was the real opener) but they were close and hooked up with Rancid for the show. Two of my all-time favorites. Skinhead Rob was there and climbed out on a pipe in the ceiling until he was like 20 feet over the crowd. It broke and he dropped. LOL.

I like this second one, it's really happy.

I always liked the song Trans Europe Express but never really listened to any of their other **** until recently.

I’m looking forward to diving into their catalogue more.
I’m not super familiar with their whole catalogue either, the earlier stuff is more of a prog/jazz thing than their full on music for robots thing

Hey, @Bluenote13, only 5 days until the new Wilco album comes out.

I was at their solid sound festival at the end of June, I saw Jeff do a free show at Lincoln Center in July, I caught Nels Cline in Brooklyn in August, and I'm definitely ready for the new Wilco record !

Checkout their performance on Colbert the other night, Nels and Glenn are standouts. I think Glenn only uses one drumstick the whole song.

In light of recent events, I've been going back big into The Cars.

Ditto.

I even went back and listened to the Weezer and Bad Brains albums Ocasek produced.

And I'm really embarrassed to admit that I'm only realizing now that Moving in Stereo is a cars song. Never realized it all these years and I must have seen Fast Times at Ridgemont High at least 50 times
