Punk Floyd in all their glory.

(even if towards the very end of them being brilliant. 77-81 or so was their prime. Still moments of genius though until the end of the classic line-up in '90... albeit by ~86-87 seemed jaded already.)

No-one else has ever sounded like them or ever will. No matter how hard some have tried.

One of the best bassists ever, a very gifted keyboardist, a pretty interesting, uniquish guitarist and a rock-steady drummer. Who were very well educated both in music and the wider world and wrote some beautiful as well as fascinating lyrics... and frankly bizarre musical phrases at times that worked amazingly.

I went to a Stranglers concert mid-80s that I hadn't planned on, wearing a white Flyers jersey. Didn't know they were playing (obviously pre-internet) til I walked past the venue. You'll never stand out like a sore thumb more than wearing white to the Stranglers.
And yes, they were great.
