They have two of the hottest players right now in Jagr and Elias, both on fire. They also have two very capable goalies, two of the best in the tournament - Vokoun and Hasek. And lets not forget Hasek is one goalie who elevates his level of play to a whole new level that not many other goalies can even match.

Goaltenders:
Domink Hasek - Ottawa Senators
Milan Hnilicka - Bili Tygri Liberec HC
Tomas Vokoun - Nashville Predators

Defensemen:
Frantisek Kaberle - Carolina Hurricanes
Tomas Kaberle - Toronto Maple Leafs
Filip Kuba - Minnesota Wild
Pavel Kubina - Tampa Bay Lightning
Marek Malik - New York Rangers
Jaroslav Spacek - Chicago Blackhawks
Marek Zidlicky - Nashville Predators

Centers:
Petr Cajanek - St. Louis Blues
Robert Lang - Detroit Red Wings
Vaclav Prospal - Tampa Bay Lightning
Martin Straka - New York Rangers

Wingers:
Patrik Elias - New Jersey Devils
Jan Bulis - Montreal Canadiens
Martin Erat - Nashville Predators
Milan Hejduk - Colorado Avalanche
Ales Hemsky - Edmonton Oilers
Jaromir Jagr - New York Rangers
Rostislav Olesz - Florida Panthers
Martin Rucinsky - New York Rangers
David Vyborny - Columbus Blue Jackets

Hwo do you guys see their lines?

Canada have Thornton he doesnt need no goalie
Russia have Ovechkin
Sweden have Lundqvist and Alfredsson
watch out for everybody...

i know, i know but this thread is dedicated to talking about the czech squad. :)

I think if you swap Bulis and Erat down a line and move Vyborny and Hemsky up a line then you've got it right. I think the Rangers will play on the same line since they have been playing together more than the others. It could be hot right off the bat.

Couldn't they have picked anyone better than Bulis and Erat? :dunno:

they could have Sykora, or Havlat if he weren't injured, but they chose Bulis to play on the PK, and Erat too I guess

I don't know what Olesz is doing there though :help:

Exactly. Obviosuly Elias should be ahead of Rucinsky, but Rucisnky and Straka have played with Jagr all year, they probably have the most chemistry than any line coming into to the games. And having Elias on the 2nd line makes the 2nd line more lethal. This is going to be a fun olympics (except for the the fact the US sucks this year). The gold is up for grabs.

The biggest reason I fear them is that they always are disgustingly effective on big ice. If they are a goal up they can just suffocate teams out there, waiting patiently for the chance to counter attack.

by the way 13 Czech players practiced today.

Hasek didn't get his equipement, which was probably lost in Washington where he took his plane. he's expecting it tomorrow, and had to practice with a new equipement he's not used to. >>> picture <<<

I'd say watch out for all the big seven myself.None of them are patsies.

They showed him skating around on MSNBC. He looked so goofy.

Erat picked up a lot of points in the eyes of many in the Czech braintrust with his performance in the Czech league last year. That probably weighs heavily in their eyes despite his 'good not great' performance so far this season.
