He isn't a backup.

It's a tandem league now. A solid and consistent 30+ game veteran goalie is very valuable.

Tandem league, but I'm not sure paying 10m total for both goalies is worth it. Probably only a few mill more then what you'd want to pay em.

They can easily trade one of them when they need cap space and get assets in return.

10m for two goalies, is going to be average, when the cap is sitting at 100M in the next 2-3 years.

Dont mind paying the best tandem in the league 10m. Some teams are paying that for one goalie.

Its better two have to 1A goalies than one starter and a backup who you have tough time to win with.

They also seem to love Charlie in the locker room. And with Stevenson not taking the next step this season our pipeline for goalies looks unimpressive. Dont mind securing the position for few years while we have no shortage of cap space.

Only positive sides here. hope they get it done.
