The puck was ruled not to have been kicked in and called a good goal. Yes or no was this the correct call? I personally think it should have been no goal.
Two weeks ago when Toronto played Detroit, Bobby McMann's 1st career NHL goal was waived off because he kicked the puck off the skate of Olli Maatta and it went into the net. He was trying to kick the puck towards his stick, and it took an unlucky bounce. Under the current rules it was the right call to not allow the goal, however it's safe to say he wasn't attempting to do that.They don't disallow goals for attempted kicking.
