I thought this guy already had a thread. I don't see huge upside, but he's a good player. Big winger whose more of a grinder, but he can chip in with some offense. He works extremely hard and is a good defensively. His skating is probably about average. Fourth line type. Could fourth line his way to NHL. Probably a late round pick, but I would be surprised if he didn't eventually at least become an AHL caliber player.

Surprising move here....London must have come after him hard. NTDP players usually stick with the college commitments. Gut punch for Providence at this point of the year.

Not a good move for his long term development, but he'll put up more points there.

I would say that the London Knights have as good a reputation for developing players as any team in the entire CHL. Nothing against Providence or the excellent Nate Leaman but I think he'll be just fine.

I believe he meant that a player such as Gilmartin needs that extra time in college to better develop as a pro and not that London cannot develop players. I disagree with him on his assessment of Gilmartin's path but he and we all know what a powerful organization the London Knights are.

I think it is the right path for him to develop more offense. He looks like a safe depth player thus far when you project him up. Going to the OHL where he should get a chance to do more offensively and really use his power game more effectively at least immediately than he would have been able to at the NCAA level is an interesting choice. I think that is what he is banking on at least, London has a history of developing a lot of talent. Leaman is also unlikely to see out his tenure at Providence with him now firmly on the NHL teams radars for coaching gigs. I hope it works out for him, I can see the benefits to both paths, it is on him and the Hunters to maximize this now.
