Very fast skater and has good stick skills. Loves driving to the net. Can play PK because you want his speed on the PK as a weapon. NTDP has been using him there sometimes already. I don't see much hockey sense or finishing ability and he's only 5'11, but his speed could carry him to the NHL.

5'11 158 to 5'11 173 in the preseason measurements. The added weight can't hurt and the way he plays the game doesn't require height, but how palatable is his draft profile at 5'11?

He hasn't really progressed much at the NTDP. Same player as when he got there. Fastest player on the team, but he's a one trick pony. Occasionally on the right shift he'll show a little of puck handling skill and he's relatively good defensively. Maybe you get a fourth line winger (Tyler Motte?), but doesn't process the game at the level of his teammates. Can't really play a team game when his team has the puck. And he's not the biggest either. Brendan McMorrow and Charlie Cerrato both went undrafted with this profile the last two years from the NTDP, so Kvasnicka might find it tough to get picked. I would take a chance on him because I think he has a clear role he could play in the NHL, but definitely not before round 4 or 5, at earliest.

Has had a nice U18 Worlds so far. Really clicking with Mooney and Berchild so far. The small line has been our best so far.

I’m surprised they had him top 9. Probably got a little lucky in that sense, but he’s taken advantage of the opportunity and was our player of the game in the much anticipated battle against Sweden.

Still not sure he thinks the game well enough for top 9 in the NHL and it’s difficult to fourth line your way to the NHL, but he’s probably helping his draft stock. Hard to not see him as a clear draft pick if he can continue this level of play.

And to be fair, he’s been scoring at a top 6 rate all year, so he’s not doing too bad this year with his scoring, even if I question the offense translating to the NHL.

@Bonin21 Is Kvasnicka going to be at Minnesota in the fall & if so, where in the lineup will he be?
95% yes because of poor recruiting and not having enough players lined up to give him a year in the USHL.

He will start middle six but I think could end up on Mooney's wing as the second line. Regardless of where he ends up he'll have plenty of opportunity as the forward unit is weak next year.
