Terrible season, I am shocked he made the Russian team.

That means Russia is going to really struggle with Defense at the games.

Slava is in the midst of a career worse year, and he made the Russian national team.

Don't know if I should laugh at that, or congratulate Slava.

Way to go man.

Definitely having a down year. However I am still very high on Slava and expect him to bounce back next season. Maybe the Olympics will give him a boost, although he may not know how to react playing with forwards that can score.

Perhaps. Are they playing on a bigger ice surface sochi? If so that might suit Voynov. He's not having a great year but playing with his countrymen all speaking the same Lingo might help him get back on track.

Slava started off the season fairly strong, but I agree he's really fallen off lately. I want to see him pinch in a bit more, he's shown he can be dangerous when he moves in towards the circles. Big ice should help out a guy like him with great mobility.

Pesky agitator though? Hmm... maybe someone hasn't seen a lot of west coast games and just finds his name to be agitating to spell.

1. Sophomore slumpish season, he's really in his 2nd full season in the league.

2. I think the substantial contract is causing him to press a bit, similar to what went on with Doughty.

I'm not worried long-term about Slava at all, but he sure is painful to watch this year.

QFT...one thing we must be keenly aware is that even though Voynov and Muzzin are both having down years and Greene is absolutely brutal we still have the top defense in the league.

Ironic, no?

Growing pains, imo.

Also, there was no way Russia was leaving Voynov off that team this year, no matter how slow his play has been. Look at their D. May as well go wake up Zubov.

A scary trend though.....Last Ten games the Kings have given up 2.89 GA. That's not good defense.

Also the PK has been bad.

I've noticed he tends to get under opposing players skins pretty awful. Watch him a little closer in front of the net and after the whistles, a lot of forwards leave the crease with some choice words for him. First one that comes to mind is the altercation with Lupul back in the Toronto game.

I have to admit that I have never noticed that aspect to his game. He seem like a quiet guy.

I started looking for it after I saw this, that's how I realized how often he does stuff like that in front of the net, though I can't think of another time where he had to answer for it.

Warning: Colorful Language

Ha, thata boy Voynov, nice cross checks to the dial. I've never seen him do that before.
