This is a voting to determine the best players of the Columbus Blue Jackets last season and their ranking versus each other. In order to participate, send me a PM with a list of the 5 players you consider the best on your team in the order you would rank them. The point system I am going to use: 5 points for every 1st place vote, 4 points for every 2nd place vote, 3 points for every 3rd place vote, 2 points for every 4th place vote and 1 point for every 5th place vote. Rankings posted in the thread will not be considered, PMs only. Please put "Columbus Blue Jackets" in the "Title" field of your message.

Looking for forward to your ballots!

Two questions keep coming up, so a clarification is in order:

1) The voting is open until Saturday, July 25th. You can still send in your ballot on that day. Don't complain if I don't count your vote when you send it in on Sunday 26th or later.
2) We're ranking the players' performances in the 2014-2015 season, so it doesn't matter whether a player is still with the team now or not.

I was busy doing a charity event for most of the past week, so I didn't see this in time to vote. Here's what my ballot would have looked like:

1.) Nick Foligno
2.) Scott Hartnell
3.) Ryan Johansen
4.) Sergei Bobrovsky
5.) David Savard

Honorable mentions: Connauton, Dano, Wennberg.

That's more or less what my list looks like. I might put Dubi on there even though he only played 47 games, because he was great when he played, and Bob and Savvy were good but not great.

I don't think anyone is close to Foligno. He shuffled through so many lines and roles and kept outscoring the other team, while guys fell off without Foligno - including Joey. That's why Foligno was a +16 and Joey was -6. I don't think a good case can be made that Joey was the best player or even close.

I had a tough choice between Dubi and Bob for 5th on my list, went with Dubi. Was tough for me to overlook what he brought to our team. Was scoring at a 62 point pace with excellent defense. Now that I think about it, picking between Savard or Bob might have been a tougher choice.

my 5 were Joey, Foligno, Hartnell, Savard, Dubi

I did this:

1. Nick Foligno
2. Ryan Johansen
3. Scott Hartnell
4. Cody Goloubef
5. David Savard

And honestly, the only reason Cody is over Savard is because I wanted to bump his points :)

1. Foligno
2. Johansen
3. Bobrovsky
4. Hartnell
5. Dubinsky

Really wanted to get Dano on there, but couldn't rationalize putting him ahead of any of those five.
