We had a chance last year to aquire Vokoun but Burke didn't want to do a multi year deal with him, which I was really upset about. Now we're trying to aquire a goalie that relatively the same age (3 years younger) that has ten more years left on his contract.

Vokoun age 36

2011-12 season 25W 17L 2.51GAA .916%
$2 million until 2013-14

Luongo age 33

2011-12 season 31W 14L 2.41GAA .919%
5.33 million until 2021-2022

So I need to ask who would you guys rather have not who do you think is better because for the same price and term most would agree Luongo is the better goalie. But consider all aspects.

Thanks
GO LEAFS GO!

vokoun. Funny you changed your username right afterwards Burke's firing.

To be honest with you I didnt want to but I think it would be more disrespectful to him to keep it.... almost look like i'm slamming him... I think it was stupid to let him go and he was an excellent gm... But I do like Nonnis..... But I still love Burkie and will cheer for him where ever he goes

With Burke signing Vokoun, there'ds likely no Morgan Rielly so it was a good thing Burke didn't sign him.

I'm not so sure the Leafs will get Luongo, ut I would pick Vokoun over him right now. That 10 years is just a killer. Can't justify it.

what? Vokoun was interested in signing with us??? wtf?

Vokoun is obviously a better option than Luongo but Vokoun is NOT available and only signed these last two cheap deals to try and win a cup, so he aint going anywhere.

The trade was made on June 4 2012 which was way after our season was already over

The journeyman, of course. We must preserve the opportunity for high draft choices at all costs. Any attempt to move up the standings must be thwarted immediately. The next 8 drafts are the deepest in all of world history and we must take advantage.

We will have thee #1C's, three #D's and two #G's and then we can trade them for more draft picks.

I dream of the day when we own the first 20 overall picks in a single draft.

Good days ahead.

i'm pissed we didn't get vokoun when we had the chance at the cost of a pick. On a 1-2 yr deal he'd be solid and let us plan out our goalie situation with a legit buffer in place.
