The flip side to this is if kravtsov does make the team he's going to be in the ..he's played a ton of hockey in the past xxxx months

Definitely the right move for now ..not sure how it plays out long term though.

Good move.

Traktor has new management. Unlike the past few years, they'll be respectable. He'll have some reasonable talent to play with.

Whether my friends or the internet flipping out already saying Kravstov is done or a bust is pretty comical. I even had one person say you can't apply my "three year" post draft rule for beginning an NHL career.

IMO, going back will help him. Needs to add bulk, but I think in the event the season starts in December/January, he will be given a chance to earn a third line spot.

Laf-Zibanejad-Kreider
Panarin-Strome-Kakko
Lemieux-Chytil-Kravtsov
Barron-Howden-Gauthier
McKegg

Will be the Opening Night lineup, I think.

Anyone got track on if they are playing any pre-season now? Are they streamed? Would be effin awesome to catch Kravy in action.

I see what you did there. On defense we will have

Miller-Trouba
Lindgren-Fox
Reunanen-Lundkvist

There is 0.00% chance that Reunanen will start over Hajek or Robertson. He's small and we don't need a 4th line paring of 5'11 defenseman. Just stop. Hajek is going to surprise a lot of people here. I'm not shocked that our fan base has made another defenseman a whipping boy. It's all they do.

As far as Kravtsov goes. I would trade him. Our top 4 wings are Lafrenierre, Kakko, Panarin and Kreider. Kravtsov is not what you want in a bottom 6 winger. Neither is Buchnevich. If I had to package a Chytil, Kravtsov and Buchnevich to get a Larkin I'd easily do that. Zibanejad has a history of concussions and we have seen already when he goes down the team sucks. They need a second line center who can play like a first with Zibanejad.

Don't like that at all.

Maybe Traktor GM (sports director) is preemptively trying to avoid questions about how long Kravtsov will stay. Contractually the situation is similar to last year so the Rangers should control timing of Kravtsov return.

What might be closer to the truth is that the Rangers could have promised Traktor to not extract Kravtsov early for training camp / start of the NHL season.

Bourbon clouding that mind again? Try some espresso. Like Lias, this kid should be getting closer to Garden ice than farther away.

Ah yes, the old "You're an alcoholic" ad hominem. Classic

The 2 situations are nothing alike. Lias chose for himself (with team permission) to stay in the SHL for the year, both to ensure he got play time, to build back his confidence, and hopefully build trade value if that's what's going to happen. That was *his* choice.

Kravtsov was loaned to Traktor to ensure he didn't go AT MINIMUM 7 months (NHL draft is in October, and there is essentially 0 chance they'd start playing right after) without playing a game of professional hockey. Traktor the team would only accept it if Kravtsov stayed for the full season. Due to lack of a transfer agreement between the KHL and NHL, and Traktor obviously being unwilling to trade Kravtsov's rights to a different team, they hold all the leverage there. So either he sits out of professional hockey for 7+ months, or he plays the season over there, despite our unhappiness with it.

The KHL season runs through the end of February. Into March/April if Traktor made the playoffs. The NHL is 4 months into the season at that point. If he has played 60-70 KHL games, and the NHL is deep into its season, would they even want to bring him over? I know we brought Zucarello over, but he had 50+ NHL games and 70+ AHL games under his belt and had only played 51 KHL games at the time.

I'm good with him playing overseas until we get started, but if he's going to be forced to stay until his season KHL season concludes, I'm considerably less happy about the move.
