Sounds correct. I noticed on his KHL player page that he still hasn't been assigned to Traktor or given a number. I was wondering why. When Rykov was loaned he was assigned those things the next day.

I'm also glad to see the Rangers pushing for an option to bring him back on their terms. That's been my only objection to the loan. I know people say "Traktor doesn't owe the Rangers anything" which is...fine? But the Rangers don't owe Traktor anything, either, so it's smart for them to push for the best possible arrangement for their asset.

Doesn’t look like Traktor will change it stance on this point. Wonder if the Rangers a.) Go along agreeing to the full season clause, b.) Stay strong and risk the Russian missing 9 months of competitive hockey or c.) Trying to find an alternative landing spot for Kravtsov (possible but less likely alternative).

Option C is interesting but unless Traktor trades his KHL rights, another KHL team isn't an option. That leaves other European leagues. Kravtsov spoke about Finland and Switzerland as possible destinations on loan but they have to hurry because those leagues have limitations in terms of foreign players

Well now who are you callin’ simple

Idiotic statement. The next year he took Miller 15th overall. Following year he had 4 picks and took Skjei. Year after that he didn't have a first or second and had 5 picks and found three NHL players. Buchnevich, Duclair and Graves. Year after than he didn't have a first round pick and found Shesterkin. Don't here you complaining about the Shesterkin pick. Year after that he didn't have a first or second and even if it's elsewhere Gettinger, Reunanen, Wall and Fontaine might find an NHL job. Especially Gettinger and Wall. Do some research. The book is far from closed on Kravtsov and Andersson. They are still young. It's amazing how some in this fan base are still holding onto the stupid Jessiman pick. Get over it. Rangers IMO have the best farm in hockey. That's what happens when you have great scouts and don't trade away your first round picks and even acquire extra ones.

Agree with all except Lias. Great post- way to bring some sensibility.

When does the KHL season end? When does the NHL season begin?

When does the KHL season end? When does the NHL season begin?

KHL regular season ends in February. Playoffs finals end in April.

Per Larry’s Slap Shots, it’s likely that NHL’s estimated December 1st start of the season will be delayed. Let’s say it’s around January 1st - KHL season will have 4 months under the belt or about 2/3 way through.

If Traktor’s season ends in March, there will be probably about 1/2 of the NHL regular season left. Maybe 1/3 but still a big chunk for Kravtsov to play if he’s ready.

Right move. Worst case scenario he joins us later in the season but for all we know the KHL season may end just as NHL gets going.

20/20 hindsight, despite VK’s enthusiasm to come over, he should have stayed another 2 seasons in the KHL. Round out his game kind of how Buch did before he came over.

Clark should have been fired for the McIlrath disaster long before he had the chance to mess up on back to back top 10 picks

Other people have responded to this in other ways, but I’ll also add...

It’s an entirely mistaken trope on these boards that any important front office people get fired for one move. A director of scouting isn’t going to get fired for one draft pick, no matter how bad it turned out. A GM isn’t going to get fired for one trade or one free agent signing. That’s just not how these things work and it’s sort of ridiculous to say it should work that way in this one case for this one bad move.

not upset about this even if he spends the whole year there...he needs to play and develop and I'm not sure there is a top 9 spot for him in NY. i'm also still hoping that the flat cap lets us keep fast around for another few years and think he could be a huge help to chytil if moved down to the 3rd line...

it would be great if we find spots for a number of our key prospects to play next year with so much unknown about the start times of NA leagues...Miller, Barron, Robertson..

If Traktor ends up being as bad as they have been the last few seasons, him staying the full season isn't really going to be that beneficial.

Yes, he does get to play sooner than if he just waited for whenever NA hockey starts up, but that doesn't matter if it's just spending time playing for a crap team.

I don't think they will be bad, but it is a legitimate hesitancy.

Yeah, I don't know anymore, and honestly I don't care enough to go into this for hours. Conflicting reports from both sides of the ocean. Whatever.

If they do recall him, I hope it's for the right reasons.

He’s going to get top line, or at least top 6, minutes there right? If so, I don’t care how long he stays. Get your confidence back, work in your all around game, come back after COVID and be ready to contribute from day one (part deux).

I really do need to get a Bailen jersey at some point. Loved him in college and he has carved out a great pro career.
