I thought it was more than that. Could be wrong and I'm sure AK could tell us, but i was under the impression it was almost the entire tournament

- Dec 6th: Out with a knee injury in the KHL
- Dec 20th: Out with the flu
- Jan 2nd: Then tore his tricep in the game vs Slovakia in the QF and played in the 2 remaining games

Don't remember him missing extraordinary amount of time when he returned to Traktor after WJC either. Just a few games not too excessive - pretty much to deal with travel jet-lag and post-tournament recovery.

BTW I stand corrected on my previous post re Traktor's 2C. The spot will be given to Byvaltsev, not Polygalov I mentioned earlier.

Yeah, and there was talk about undergoing surgery, Traktor needed him and he decided to play through it

Wow this thread is gonna be the most happening thing Hockey wise for us up until the draft then the regular season

I kinda hope Kakko and others get loaned. Since hes already there I dont see why not. I know there obvious reasons to not but it's better he skates in real games

Ugh, that spelling. My eyes, my eyes!

It's proper English

Clark should have been fired for the McIlrath disaster long before he had the chance to mess up on back to back top 10 picks

Idiotic statement. The next year he took Miller 15th overall. Following year he had 4 picks and took Skjei. Year after that he didn't have a first or second and had 5 picks and found three NHL players. Buchnevich, Duclair and Graves. Year after than he didn't have a first round pick and found Shesterkin. Don't here you complaining about the Shesterkin pick. Year after that he didn't have a first or second and even if it's elsewhere Gettinger, Reunanen, Wall and Fontaine might find an NHL job. Especially Gettinger and Wall. Do some research. The book is far from closed on Kravtsov and Andersson. They are still young. It's amazing how some in this fan base are still holding onto the stupid Jessiman pick. Get over it. Rangers IMO have the best farm in hockey. That's what happens when you have great scouts and don't trade away your first round picks and even acquire extra ones.

Let's say Lias doesn't work out. He found Chytil with his second first rounder and Barron in the 6th round. Where would Barron go if they drafted again? Definitely second round. In 2018 he had 3 first rounders. Kravtsov is a guy most scouts still project as a top 6 forward. In Miller and Lundkvist they are already being talked about as top 4 guys on our future defense. They used his third round pick Keane to trade for a first round pick in Gauthier. Pajuniemi has a lot of potential as well. In 2019 his first three pics after Kakko all look like they are well regarded prospects around the league. You are looking at the drafts with your eyes closed and aren't being objective.

Sounds correct. I noticed on his KHL player page that he still hasn't been assigned to Traktor or given a number. I was wondering why. When Rykov was loaned he was assigned those things the next day.

I'm also glad to see the Rangers pushing for an option to bring him back on their terms. That's been my only objection to the loan. I know people say "Traktor doesn't owe the Rangers anything" which is...fine? But the Rangers don't owe Traktor anything, either, so it's smart for them to push for the best possible arrangement for their asset.

Mistakes are made in drafts but overall hard to knock the recent Ranger drafts. The bigger problem is what happens after the players are drafted. Trading Miller was a massive blunder. Trading Graves was bad too. The handling of Andersson and Ktavtsov was bad. I would not be shocked to see both traded before next season.

Miller was a 4th liner in Tampa. Can we stop acting as if we traded away a player who would have put up 70 points in NY? He said himself that the 2nd trade was a wake-up call for him and that he changed his attitude.

Graves, in hindsight, looks like a bad trade but I think people are overreacting as to how good he really is, based on a fluke season playing with a top D-man

Miller himself acknowledged that it was being traded from the Rangers and subsequently from Tampa that provided him a wake-up call that he needed. I think you can make a reasonable argument that we could have gotten better value for him alone, but I don't think it's fair to act is if he'd be a point-per-game player had he stayed here.

I agree that trading Miller was not a mistake. He would have never done squat here on a big level. Or in Tampa. He isn't that bright and his work ethic stunk. Going out to the sticks in Vancouver was the right move for him. In that deal we got Hajek, Howden, 1st used on Lundkvist, 2nd used on Henriksson. We also picked up Namestnikov for a 2021 4th rounder so who knows if they find a gem with that pick. That trade potentially looks fantastic. McDonagh would have cost too much money and if they kept him there was no way they could have signed Panarin.

And thesse things go both ways. Zibanejad takes his game up three levels after coming to the Rangers, DeAngelo reaches his potential after two trades. Strome has his best season in the NHL last season. People seem to overlook when these things work out in the Rangers favor.
