Jesus Christ, playing for a playoff spot when your team is all but eliminated. Should be focusing one giving minutes to the kids that are going to be leading this team next year and beyond instead of having Colin F#$%ing Blackwell on the 2nd line again. I am so sick of this delusion that we have a chance at a playoff spot this year when any objective look at the standings, point percentage, and remaining games say we are out...

Obviously they are putting him in a better window display for the trade deadline shoppers. Might make the difference between a 4th or a 2nd rounder? It’s only 4 games.

actually any and all objective looks and models give us a 10-15% chance at making the playoffs which according to the geniuses around these parts means zero because probability and mathematics are not strong suits

I’m late to the party because of religious reasons but man he looked great imo. I watched some of the game, but from what I saw, he is an NHLer no doubt. I’m fine with Quinn wanting him to focus on fundamentals first. The skill and offense will come. I was also right about him being great defensively. What I didn’t expect was how big and fast he looked. While his skating isn’t elite, he has a long, powerful stride and about NHL average speed. Maybe a bit better than average. His size though...love it.

Edit: One more thing. His vision is great and also better than I expected.

All shifts from Kravtsov's first game:

When you watch them in succession like this, you can see he had a very good first game. You can see he is poised when he gets the puck. More so than Kakko and Laf at this juncture.

Also, that might have been the most engaged I've seen Laf play so far. I wonder if somehow playing with Kravtsov did that. Not sure how though.

We can revisit this when we are mathematically eliminated and this allocation if ice time to players like blackwell is a waste. There is no way to argue that these lines are in the long-term best interests of player development. 4 points back on a team that has 3 games in hand is a mountain with 19 games remaining and would take a small miracle. Do you think this team can run an .800 point percentage the rest of the way? They basically have to sweep the remaining games against the bruins, and push come to shove the bruins are a better team...

Could you please tell us where you got that these lines are “long-term”?

I see more skill in Kravtsov than Laf & Kakko and no one will convince me otherwise

Kakko is already better than Kravtsov and is 13 months younger; and Lafreniere is Lafreniere, while being 22 months younger.

Kravtsov had a solid debut, and I want nothing more than for him to his his ceiling for us, but the odds of him being better than both those guys is very low. I wouldn't take 50/50 odds that he ends up better than 1 of them.

Wait, what? Is this sarcasm? You’re questioning the mathematical proficiency of people doubting that an event with a 10-15% chance of happening will happen? Am I reading that right?

I’m putting my 8th place seed in our Pick ‘em Pool on the line for Kravy, that’s how confident I am!

Keep in mind that they derive more joy from losing a game than winning it, because it unleashes their whining, and there's nothing they like better than whining.

Thankfully, for them, they can always find something to whine about, so they'll always be happy.

Yes, I am doubting the intelligence of people who don't understand the difference between unlikely and impossible.
