Buch is definitely a 2nd line player.

I would hope Kravtsov can be a bit more than that, especially where he was picked, i'd like him to be at least a fringe 1st line player who can put up 55 points. But if he ends up like buch at least it wouldn't be considered a bust. But to be fair Buch really looked like he was breaking out the 2nd half of last season, it really wouldn't shock me if he put up 55-60 points next season (assuming it was a 82 game season).

It's made up horseshit. It makes zero sense incentive wise for the Rangers to help a HATED division rival with no assets to send back for a kid who is still a good prospect.

The rumor never implied the Rangers (Gorton) were ever thinking of actually trading him away. I could see PIT being interested in a player on an ELC if they think he is ready to play.

Teams talk all the time about trades that never actually come to fruition

I'm not going to argue that it makes sense to deal him to Pitt, but...someone earlier proposed Poulin+1st (2022). That kind of trade would warrant some pretty serious consideration, IMO--a high-end offensive guy who also plays all 200 feet, and a first in what's shaping up to be a great draft.

A 55 pt player would be an extremely acceptable outcome for where Kravtsov was drafted.

I added more to my post. In 18-19 he was 42nd in RW scoring despite playing just over 60 games. In 17-18 he was 36th.

Last season he was 17th in scoring among RWs.

The thing is that he's gifted enough to hit 25-30 goals. That's why you still see the doubt, it's not necessarily the points, but the lack of goals. I'd actually like to see Buch across from Bread to see how that works. If Buch's hitting 3-5 shots a game, he's going to be up there in the 25-30 range.

Well that's what frustrated me about him--the feeling that he was/is capable of more. However, if I resign myself to the fact that he's probably more of a 15-20, maybe 25 in a good year, type of player, I appreciate him more. He has taken huge strides in his all-around game since he broke in--he's committed defensively, tough on the puck, gives good effort every shift, etc. It's like someone explained the "Lazy Russian" stereotype to him and it really pissed him off.

I still believe he has another gear, but if this is how he tops out, I'm totally okay with that. He is a good player who has worked hard to get himself to where he is now.

Zero players took 5 shots per game last year.
Four players took 4 shots per game last year
41 players took 3 shots per game last year.
(500+ mins)

Buch's career high is 2.17. Not asking too much. He's not a volume shooter and he's not a 20+ min TOI guy. I would bet he never hits 3 shots/game in a season in his career.

I agree overall. Thinking Buch could get incremental increase to be closer to 2.5 shots. Definitely see the increase in shots and overall improvement to translate to 20+ goals and 30+ to 40 assists in his prime that he's just entering. I doubt he will be a consistent 30 goal scorer or even someone in upper 20's but he'd make good players look better.

A 40-50 point, solid, responsible 2nd line player is always a home run if you get them in the 3rd round.

No he doesn't have enough games where he shoots off of his touches. He's on the PP, and top line. Only Espo and Ovechkin hit 500+ I think. He should have more 2 & 1 goal games baked in there, especially on the PP. But that's exactly what I mean, they want to see the finish.

With the mass fan you get a range of terms thrown out there that's even closely associated with "I'm not seeing enough of this" in sports. Lazy being one of them, soft being another for not hitting.

Through two, no shots for Vitali. He also had a terrible turnover I saw on Twitter, that fortunately did not result in a goal. His team is down 3-0, however.

Traktor cut the deficit to 2:4, earned a PP but it was a pitiful effort. Slow thinking, moving the puck and unforced errors all over. Just about 6 min left.

Maybe it’s the injury he suffered this year but I don’t see the offensive impact right now in his game.
Right now the chances of him busting or being a career KHL guy is closer than him being a top 6 guy.
He isn’t even close to being ready for intense NHL action.
obviously the tools and size are there but right now the way he’s playing not sure if that would make any impact at all at the NHL level.
I hope he can prove a lot of people wrong and start using the gifts and size he has

Traktor is playing against Sibir. Kravtsov is LW on Sedlak's line. More active in the second period (as the whole team) with a couple of shots - albeit not dangerous - but I think he'd benefit a bit from a tough-love approach, ala Quinn's treatment of Buchnevich. Put him on a bottom line to bang and be physical for a game or two - let him earn a promotion and ice time with top lines.

Didn't convert one one one after careless play by Sibir defenseman. That was with under 2 min left in the game.

Got back on the ice in the last 30 seconds to defend the lead when opponent pulled goalie for an extra forward. Ended up with 4 SOG in 18+ min
