Visiting Winnipeg - help with Jets practice and visiting team autos

Hi there. In The Peg for the holidays here. Wondering when the Jets practice and if they're open to the public.

Also where visiting teams stay and if there's a chance for autos.

Any info is appreciated.

Yes that's right, and you can usually find the players at Earls on main. Practices I'm pretty sure you need an invite to get in.

Practices that are at the MTS center are closed to the public. If there is an event on at MTS, they practice at the MTS IcePlex which is open to the public.

Surprised any team would stay at a dump like that hotel.

Would not be surprised if they caught bed bugs.

very hard to get autographs in Winnipeg very fan unfriendly city.also the teams stay at the Fairmont but you are not allowed on there property so it makes it impossible in Winnipeg.also I don't know why teams would stay at the Fairmont hotel.not a very appealing building from the outside looks like a jail.Also have heard things about the hotel being very dirty inside.

Easy to get autographs if you look hard enough, the visiting teams stay at the Fairmont and usually practice the morning of gameday, isn't all that difficult to figure out where to go.

Hell, if you have time on your hands you can hang out at the airport, they all go through the security checkpoint on the second floor of the new terminal. Most teams fly out right after the game after all media obligations are done, sometimes they layover in Winnipeg for the night, likewise with our team in other cities.

I think visiting teams fly out of the charter area of the airport for private Jets ajmidd, it has its own terminal that is on the opposite end of the runways?

Hang out at the private runway at Sharp blvd when the teams fly in & out on their private charters.

That is the easiest place to get autographs.

Esso Avitat will let you go right up to players & they won't say anything to you.

The hotel has extra security that won't allow you on the property to get autographs.

If you approach the team bus security will escort you off the property.

fyi, the Fairmont's not a dump, but having stayed there once, it definitely is not a high end hotel.
Inn at the Forks is much, much nicer (except for their movie theatre carpet)

As an aside, imagine how handy the ALT hotel will be for visiting teams.

I am sure Chipman's hotel in front the of the Mts Centre will be a very high end hotel once finished & very convenient for the players.

I can't see players continue staying at the low end $300 a room hotel on Portage & Main once Chipman's hotel is completed.
