Player Discussion Vinni Lettieri

I was thinking why not call-up Lettieri for the final push, throw him in Kreider's spot and see how bad he wants it. Maybe sending Giuseppe back to HFD?

He has NHL experience under his belt which could help down the stretch.

He has a shoot first mentality which we need a bit more right now, and plays the heavy net front game.

Just an idea to consider.

I always wonder if Lettieri will one day turn into a Marchessault late bloomer. Not as good as JAM but a serviceable NHL player. JAM had 4 ~60 point seasons in the AHL before becoming a semi-consistent lineup player for Tampa. Lettieri is really on his 3rd AHL season, more NHL games played than JAM at the same age. I think Lettieri had a good shot at ~60 point seasons too in those years had he not spent so much time up with the Rangers.

Does anyone remember JAM in Hartford? Or even when he was in the minors with TB? I'm curious how those two compare.
