Just wondering if any news has come out on Vilardi. He took a pretty bad hit at the end of the Calgary game and didn't play the last half of the third period.
Good to hear about Fiala and Vilardi. Where does Durzi fit into this defense now?
Vill ain't playing Sat.Man I hope Vilardi and Fiala play Saturday. Yea I don't get what Tmac is doing with Spence. The guy has talent, Good puck moving D-man that can QB the PP and yet he keeps him out of the line up.

They've had plenty games together this season already..I’d love to see Bjornfot and Spence get a game together before the year’s up, just to see what we’re missing.
He will join TM in flogging Spence for pregame.Good to hear about Fiala and Vilardi. Where does Durzi fit into this defense now?
In the press box with Walker, ideally.
But knowing Todd, he’ll go right back to Durzi-Roy while Spence counts down the days until he’s traded.
I don't see any pressing reason to rush Vilardi or Fiala back into the line up. Let them get back to 100%.Man I hope Vilardi and Fiala play Saturday. Yea I don't get what Tmac is doing with Spence. To some of us, it seemed very very possible.I know it seems impossible, but our defense has looked competent without durzi!
Im very interested in this players immediate and long term future on the team.
Spence is as good if not better than Durzi and is cheaper than Durzi, so if one of the three has to get traded, Durzi is the logical choice. There could be a team out there looking for a RHD and willing to part with a decent draft pick. It's not easy to find a defenseman who puts up half a point per game. If something happens it'll probably happen at the draft.
Durzi is definitely the logical choice to get traded. I can't remember a moment since he went down that I was really worrying about a dumpster fire on defense. Adding Gavrikov sure helped solidify the backend on this team. Having him and Anderson on the left to log big minutes is such a luxury. To some of us, it seemed very very possible.
Once Durzi gets healthy, I think he'll draw back in as the 3rd pairing right defenseman next to Edler. He brings two things to the team, power play quarterback and spunk, but he's a double-edged sword. I hope he doesn't have another on ice meltdown like he did against McDavid in the playoffs last season.
Ultimately I think Durzi gets traded in the offseason, but odds are 51-49 on that. The Kings have Walker, Durzi, and Spence on the last year of their contracts vying for the same spot, and they only need two of the three. Durzi has trade value; Walker does not.
It's not clear what the Kings front office thinks of Spence. He's been excellent this season in limited time. Over 60 minutes played at even strength, 3 goals for, 0 goals against. All the metrics are excellent.

Apparently, he missed the last two Saturday games. Or just selective memory.I'm gonna assume there was a bit of sarcasm there.
And before that? Pretty sure it was ass, especially the pointmen not getting anything through. We have no scoring threat on the second unit from there, or just simply getting into the zone cleanly. Walker/Andersen/Roy once in 20 game goal on the pp isn't good enough, especially dishing the puck around, none are particullary good at that.
Makes much more sense to buy Walker out in the summer than trade and retain salary.Couldnt agree more.....Move Durzi for a pick on draft day, would guess a 2nd/3rd rder; and then try and move Walker and retain some salary to get it done. Has a 2.65 cap hit with 3.3million Base- Eat that at $1.6ish and move on.
To this kings fan , durzi always appeared very very very likely to turn the puck over ever time he touched it. If were depending on durzi for “spunk” we hurtin worse than i thought we wereTo some of us, it seemed very very possible.

what did anderson do to piss you off?Makes much more sense to buy Walker out in the summer than trade and retain salary.
Durzi would be the ideal 7th defenseman with Clarke expecting to make the jump and inevitably needing to sit and watch at times.
Spence is the major question mark. He is clearly ready and the odds are damn good that he will be an impact player in the league. Can't hide him forever, but with Doughty aging and Roy looking at a new deal, how do you shaft him again as an insurance policy, and how do you justify moving him when he is such a damn good player even if he is (temporarily) a surplus? Its a tough situation.
I want to see the following next year:
Bjornfot-Doughty
Gavrikov-Roy
Anderson-Clarke
Durzi
I could easily easily see a case for moving Durzi and using a Spence/Clarke platoon, just not certain that either guy shouldn't be playing every game at this stage of their growth.
He’s good enough to shelter and break Clarke in, and Clarke is good enough to carry his own water with a reliable partner.what did anderson do to piss you off?
