It was kind of a foregone conclusion, but Morin won some hardware for leading the AHL in scoring and being named MVP.

Playoffs start on Wednesday.

I don't mind it. It pretty much guarantees the series ends at home.

I'm more worried about it being against OKC. Them and Grand Rapids always give Texas the most trouble.

Looks like it's media time for the Texas Stars. So far they're saying Willie won't name the game 1 starter and Lidster said Klingberg is "out."

From what I've heard Klingberg got hurt pretty bad and that "out" may mean for the whole playoffs.

Well crap, Ritchie, Oleksiak and klingberg were the ones I was really looking forward to having good playoff runs. I guess now we hope Faksa, Glennie Stranksy and Guptil all have good runs

False alarm people! Ritchie has been seen around the building without crutches. I'm told they are a precautionary thing. No word on Hulak. So I'm guessing everyone but Klingberg and possibly Hulak will be ready for OKC.

Texas Stars defenseman John Klingberg had hip surgery, will be ready for training camp.

Oof, uuuhhh...sorry guys?

It's okay. He's not a goalie.

If Jovanovski can come back from hip surgery, Klingberg will be okay.

Actually, this is his 2nd round of hip surgery.

It really depends on how ****ed up his hip is.

Someone go tweet Mark and ask how serious the hip surgery was, because it is entirely possible it was exploratory or clean up or a really minor repair.

This is concerning. A hip issue happening for a second time in a short time frame implies that it may be a career issue.

They're saying that he should be back in time for Traverse City.

September 5-13

3-4 month recovery?

I hope he doesn't get cleared and then immediately jump into TC w/o an offseason of training.

2 hip surgeries in 2-3 years? Ehhhh... we'll see.

Philippe Desrosiers has joined Texas Stars as No. 3 goalie. Will get feel for team. Expected to play in juniors next season.

DUUUDDEEEE! I know, total black ace and won't be playing a game especially during playoffs.

But how awesome would that be?!

Edit:
This is going to sound weird....but if Nihlstorp and Campbell gets hurt, I'd hope they throw him to the wolves if it's not a must win game.

The fact he won't get a full off season to train really sucks. Hurts his chances of making the Dallas lineup out of camp.

I'm hearing that the hip surgery was always in the books just not when and that his knee injury sort of gave them go ahead.

Rumors though, grain of salt, all that stuff.

Oh, if a guy who was the #1 overall pick in his year and puts up .45 ppg at an NHL level for over 1100 NHL games can beat the norm, then obviously our 21 year old with 4 games of North American experience can do the same.:sarcasm:

Interesting. Desrosier was signed to an ATO. Wouldn't expect that with a black ace. I guess he really is going to be the third if Nihlstorp or Campbell gets hurt.
