I bought FC25 a week ago.

I regret it.

Last FIFA I played properly was maybe Fifa 12? Me and my two housemates at Uni had a Leicester City career where got them promoted to Prem and then were trying to get to Champions League...

and back then it was playable. On max difficulty it was actually intense and had to focus constantly to beat a CPU (especially if using multi-player)

On the new game I dont even know the controls fully because you just dont have to learn them aside from pass, shoot, through ball, cross and the two tackles and sprint lmao. That is enough to win every game. Highest difficulty, sliders messed with and it is basically impossible not to win vs CPU. Playing with Bradford City in League 2 and drew Fulham in FA Cup 2nd round and smashed them 5-1... made some nice FA signings but still my team average is around 67!

I don't know how the game is worse than the games from 20 years ago. Actually booted up FIFA 2005 on PC to check to see if memory is not deceiving me... and yeh... FIFA 2005 is a superior game. The CPU can actually play football and the dynamics are pretty similar lmao.

I mean, I guess online is better as vs other people. But like... FFS what on earth.

I had the same with this years MotoGP game... had not played one in ten years and it is far worse and far glitchier...

I've never played FIFA but I find the same is true for the NHL series.

It was great in the 90s.

In my experience, I think the big disconnect is that they are striving for too much realism, which makes the game boring to me. Instead of me actually controlling my player and relying on twitch reflexes, one timers, bone crunching hits, twitch dekes and breakaway moves, it now feels like canned moves are activated when you hit a button or do a combination sequence. That's not fun to me.

It's nowhere near as fast and responsive as it was in the past versions.

I’m not playing Champs this week. Team 2 looks like trash anyway.
Haven’t even seen it yet but that sucks. I’m looking forward to getting that 90x4 on Friday more than anything.

Did you finish the season pass? I took the level 40 icon pick and got the worst picks possible but I keep seeing people get absolutely insane options.

Nah I'm behind. I'll probably take the pack. I think the only Icon that gets into my team is Cafu.

Aight, so SBA's random Rimworld advice:

When picking your colonists, try for a well rounded group (as much as possible). Priority skills are cooking, medicine, construction, and shooting/melee. Intellectual will be important too, but not right off the rip. Plants can also be clutch if you want to rely on farming rather than hunting for food.

Traits are a real barrel of gas. You could have a great roll on a colonist, only for them to have a deal breaker in their traits. Stuff like chemical interest/fascination, pyromaniac, slothful, neurotic, volatile I don't deal with at all. They'll have a bad day, have a breakdown, and start fights with other colonists and/or lighting shit on fire. Others like pessimist, abrasive, misogynist/misandrist are irritating to deal with, but more manageable.

Here's a full list and their effects:

Once you land, you'll want to build a small shelter and some beds. Once you get that sorted you'll want to figure out a food source.

Research batteries as soon as you can. Once you're making food you'll want to build a fridge to keep the meals frozen so they won't go bad, which means you'll need a air conditioner and enough electricity to keep it running 24/7. I typically try to keep the kitchen, fridge, and dining room all close together in order to cut down on travel time.

Turn on manual priorities, and order them like this-ish, obviously depending on what each colonist is good at.

I set up my base somewhat like this, depending on the seed and exactly how much space you have. I'd avoid using wood walls whenever possible, as they are very, VERY flammable. I'd recommend steel if possible, or ones built from stone cut from chunks at a stonecutter's table.

The 36 game one?

Yeah, people are desperate for those rewards, which I don’t even think are that crazy.

I’m just using whatever junk is sitting around in my club. I’m not buying cards or doing evos just for the cup, like I keep seeing others do.
Yeah. I’m running into weirdos green timing headers and player locking every pass. Apparently there was a glitch if you played Coop and one person quit, the person that stayed in the game wouldn’t get a loss or game played.

I got 8 wins but I gave up a tying goal in the 95th minute of a +1 about halfway through the games and kinda choked a couple after that. That Maicon would’ve been nice.

Just so buggy vs some of the older games...

CPU D is comedy. It makes no sense. Gets drawn out of position really easily and does not track back properly no matter what tactics you or other team have. You can score the same 2 types of goal basically time and time again as a result.

And tackling is very unresponsive vs older versions.

10-15 years ago when I last played the most frustrating thing was the old slide tackle system was ridiculous as you basically never came away with the ball OR put it out of play when went down... it would bobble off 2ft and the opponent would get it back... whereas in real life when you go down to tackle? You often go in with idea of hooking foot round the ball or thumping it to either get possesion or put ball out. They have actually rectified that now! As can hook ball... but a lot of other things have gone backwards.

I have no idea how the Friendlies elo works because I had 4 games in a row against people with the Elite Div 850 SR badge… and like you said it was constant player locking and green timed shots.

I think I got 8 wins too but I don’t even remember for sure because I played it after I finished WL and I was already miserable and hating the whole game. I assume it’s my connection or my console dying because for the last week or two I’ve hardly been able to play. Lag, insane heaviness, stuttering, and the game randomly closing. I give up lol
