Because all our depth is LHD.

Past Pesce and Faulk, the best RHD in the organization is the not-NHL-ready Roland McKeown, the fresh start-needing Ryan Murphy...then, nothing.

Acquiring TVR is strictly a shoring-up-the 3RHD move and getting someone not-trash to pair Haydn Fleury with.

This deal has absolutely no bearing on a forward trade. The Canes 3rd pair was abysmal last year. TVR does a lot to fix that.
