850k? How will they fit under cap?

More importantly, according to insiders he is now worth a 1st and a top prospect at the TDL.

Re-signing Hutton for a little over league minimum isn't going to hurt them cap wise, but now they have the following D signed next season:

McNabb - Pietrangelo
Martinez - Theodore
Hutton - Whitecloud
Coghlan

Wonder if they'll trade Hague instead of re-signing him. Not a lot of room on that D.

I wouldn't read too much into re-signing a 7th dman.

It's probably nothing. McNabb re-signing was more of an eyebrow raiser for me.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hague moved for picks/prospects given Vegas' depth at D and lack of cap space next season.

Ben is definitely a 7D. Decent offensively but he gives me the most anxiety defensively of any of our blueliners.

Hutton has decent size, and can skate and move the puck. He has some bad moments at times but is a decent buttom pairing d.

Hague is waiver eligible. Either they carry 8D next year or they have to expose one of Hague/Hutton/Coghlan to waiver unless they trade one D away.

Losing Coghlan is no big deal whether it's through waivers or if someone wants to give up a late pick for him. He's never going to be more than a fringe bottom pair puck mover.
