I also would have liked to see Ville and Chibs get on the ice in OT. Both had a strong game and both would do well with speed and space out there. Oh well.
I didn't see any issue with the ot selections. The Jets controlled most of the session.

I think the Jets have really made out well with some of the new blood on the team.

Fleury in my mind is an everyday player now. Yes, he made an unfortunate mistake on the OT goal but he's really starting to show some of the reasons why he was a high pick.

If he can continue to show improvement and fulfill his potential he could be one of the shrewder moves by Chevy. Maybe he could even make Wolfhouse forget about Kovacevic (who am I kidding)

Chibrikov is just running with his opportunity. He reminds me of another Nikita, with a little less raw skill and more grit.

Heinola, while I would have liked to have seen more of his prowess with controlled exits last night I think is moving in the right direction.

Lambert is so close to cracking the lineup. He'll need to find a way to convert the chances he makes though.

I think Perfetti has been really good the past few games and points will come if he keeps that up.

I know we don't want to lose Ehlers but I think we are in a very good position to replace him internally if he goes to fa

I'm the exact same

If as a fan the only way you'll be happy is if your team wins it all, you're setting yourself up for disappointment

Like everything in life, being a Jets fan is about the journey, not the destination for me

Your denial of basic physiology is humorous

Go run a 10km every other day for 35 days and let me know how you start to feel. Throw in 16 flights and bedtimes after 2:00am for good measure. I'm sure that your performance won't suffer at all

Was the physiology part for me? I assume you must quoting another post that I can’t see?

I don't go downtown all that often but when did they start locking the doors to Portage Place at 6 pm? I must have let hundreds of people in through those doors on the North side all going to the game. -40 out and you lock out everyone who uses the mall as an entrance? Doesn't True North own this building now? Not classy boys.

What kills me about this is coaches and players are publicly held accountable and have to answer to the media when they f*** up. Refs get a free pass. “Handled internally”.

I realize it’s like this in all pro sports but it drives me crazy. How about some transparency?
Exactly, put them in the media’s line of fire for some grilling on questionable or phantom calls. If they can’t face the music, then they’re out of the playoffs rotation.

Definitely didn't deserve that one, but Helly almost stole it. Need to get some consistency going again, and they need to start generating way more chances.

At least Chibby kept up his HoF start going
For some reason the Jets don't want to shoot enough some games, looking for the pass first. Hopefully Arniel talks to the guys about that, both of our goals was because we shot the puck last night. Can't score if you don't shoot.

Namestnikov's shot was a beauty, shooting for a rebound with a net drive. I'm surprised more players don't do this. Little and Ladd used to score that way.

Was in and out of this one... Not because I was busy, but the 1st-2nd was some of the least entertaining shit I've attempted to watch.
That Morrissey shot was ridiculous.
Anyway hope they dominate the Habs Saturday.

I don't know about you but if I did a shity job at work i would get questions on what i am doing. It's a job that you get paid at so if you are doing a crappy job you should get questions.

It’s almost as if the other teams also have professional athletes and when one team of professional athletes has an advantage over another team of professional athletes, they have a better chance of winning.
My god. The Jets got home Sunday, and had days off before the Boston and Vegas games. Are people being purposely obtuse as a form of denialism or is this just shit posting for lolz on the internet??

If that was a playoff preview the Jets have some work to do if we are going to get away from the we had a great regular season but get bounced from the playoffs early syndrome. Good news there's time to tweak the lineup if Chevy chooses.

Especially when you are playing against a team that plays well defensively and don't let you get to the net.

Vegas plays a better form of Jets hockey than the Jets. They are better at it. The Jets goaltender plays a better form of goaltending than the Vegas goaltender. Otherwise this would not have been close.

Maybe Ehlers eventual return will help us get some of our mojo back.

We are first in the NHL
Jesus christ you guys..
Covid taught me we are in 3rd in the West.

Question? If you are Arniel where do you slot Ehlers in when he comes back?

One thing I took away from Chibrikov's last jacket is that he isn't fluent in English and I wonder if Namestnikov speaks Russian to him on the ice. Also notice that Perfetti is playing better all of a sudden with Nik out.

Do you break up that line?

I'd like to see Ehlers out there with Lowry and Nino. Put Ehlers with the big boys no protected o-zone matchups. Best on best.

I like Apples but it's hard not to notice a few offensive zone moments where the puck dies on his stick.

Iafallo-Kupari-Appleton you think would still be a primarily defensive zone line but I feel like you'd be closer to 3 scoring lines than the Jets have been in awhile.

I thought it was iffy too, but like I said... if the roles were reversed and that exact same thing happened vs us and the ref DIDN'T call it, we'd be bitching
The thing that bothers me is they let a number of iffy calls go beforehand and no calls, but they decide to call it by the books in the final two-minutes to put a team up 6-on-3. There’s no standard, and it’s ridiculous. We got jobbed.

I certainly don't need a cup win to call a season a success. However, I also find it hard to get very invested in anything that's happening if I feel like we're headed for another in a fairly long series of early exits from the post-season - and I do see some signs suggesting that. Sorry if some fans here have an issue with that. We all have different priorities. I enjoy the wins...and the start this year was a lot of fun. Hopefully things go differently this year once the regular season is over.

Tough call, good problem to have though. Maybe you try Perfetti in the middle with Chibby and Ehlers and Namestnikov centers the 4th line.

I totally agree that the Jets didn't play their absolute best game but they didn't play as shity as you say . Sometimes the other team plays a little better, especially a good team like Vegas. Having said that if we aren't 2 men down we were leading the game at that point and easily could have won the game.

A lot of people are going to be pissed if Nik comes back Saturday and Chibby comes out, not saying he should be the one to come out but that's the way the Jets do things, maybe that should change
