As long as they win tonight I don't really care who makes the difference but I didn't want to see the depth step up and win this one.

It's time for Nick Robertson and Max Domi to do.....anything,

It would be really cool if Minten came in tonight and scored a goal or had or had a couple big assists, It's his first game this year I'm not expecting that tonight he's in his 5th career NHL game and that's assuming he plays but if it did happen and he did score a goal or have a couple big assists we could certainly use it.

OR Tavares, Knies, Marner could all have 3 points each, I don't really care how they do it.

I would just like to see some other people step up.

But in the end just win.

If we had any depth scoring, even average, our record would be ridiculous.

I mean we do to a point.

Mcmann has 6 goals and that's good,

I still consider Knies a depth guy for now, but he's got 8 goals and he seems to be devloping into a core guy and that's great because we NEED that.

Lorentz has 3 goals and I'm extremly happy with that because I didn't think he'd get 3 goals all year I was prepared for him to be a PURE defensive forward.

He is that defensive forward but he's also contributing offensively.

So It's there to a point but man, if Domi or Robertson ever got going, or Minten could surprise us, that would be such a BIG help.

Of course you do.
The Atlantic has turned into the worst division in the league. I think it will be a very un-exciting regular season race. After tonight, the Leafs will be 7 points clear of Boston and 9 or more points clear of Ottawa, Buffalo, etc.

Have you noticed that when you say something is going to happen, it tends not to happen?

Winners of their last two games in overtime, Toronto will have two Marlie call-ups, forwards Fraser Minten and Alex Steeves with its lineup depleted by injuries and the Ryan Reaves suspension … It will be interesting to see what kind of hole Reaves leaves in the policeman’s role in coming games … “The Knights bring some offensive firepower and play the game the right way in the defensive end,” said Leaf forward Steve Lorentz. “We just have to wear them down and focus on ourselves” … Toronto coach Craig Berube is wary of the Vegas power play, second-best in the league as of Monday afternoon … Knights’ Jack Eichel was tied for fourth in league scoring with 28 points on Monday. “They’re a heavy team that control play in the offensive zone really well,” coach Craig Berube said. “Their defence is probably all 6-foot-2 or bigger” … The game begins a five-game road trip for Vegas after being blitzed 5-2 by Washington, including an Alex Ovechkin hat trick. Former Leaf Ilya Samsonov was in net for that game, but it remains to be seen if he starts against the second of his previous clubs ahead of Aidin Hill … At Scotiabank Arena, the Leafs have a combined record of 4-1-0-1 against the Knights.

Jesus, dropping like flies. Probably for the best though as he has been horrible of late. Guessing Nylander or Marner to C then? C depth is absolute shite right now.

Berube did say Marner to C is possible, I assume same goes for Nylander.

Leafs still have Holmberg, Lorentz and Dewar as capable centers as well. Maybe they try Minten in a big time role?

Only concern with Marner at C is you break up a really effective line in McMann-Tavares-Marner. I mean I suppose Nylander has done well with those two in the past so it's not the end of the world, but I really like how those three are playing together and they had good chemistry last season before McMann got hurt as well.

The idea of using William Nylander at centre on a consistent basis didn’t get much traction in camp.

How about Marner at centre?

“I talked to Mitch the other day about it, actually,” Berube said. “He said, ‘No problem, whatever you want.’

Problem with doing this tonight is Tavares/Marner is tough to break up right now.

Domi skipped 2 practices for maintenance and kept playing. He then practices yesterday, and then goes on IR the next day. Weird.

Grebenkin gets a shot though, so that is positive...

So who is playing C tonight? Marner or Nylander?

McMann Tavares Grebenkin?
Knies Marner Nylander
Robertson Minten Holmberg
Dewar Lorentz Steeves

Is this what we are looking at?

McMann Tavares Marner
Knies Holmberg Nylander
Robertson Minten Greb
Dewar Lorentz Steeves

Jarnkrok is fine but he isn’t someone worth mentioning though would love an upgrade on him

I agree he isn't a big piece, but he makes less than Kampf, he plays defensively and he got 20 goals. I'd assume if he was in the lineup from day one he'd have something like 2-5-7, compared to the 1-2-3 line by Robertson and Holmberg combined.

My gut will be tells me it will be:

McMann Tavares Marner <- should be productive
Knies Holmberg Nylander <- The.. dude, my C has two assists on the season, should I even try line?
Robertson Minten Greb <- Hello... who wants to show they belong in the NHL line
Dewar Lorentz Steeves <- Ya, it's a fourth line.
Edits.

This can't be an official Leafs account...

Maple Leafs
‪@mapleleafs.bsky.social‬

F Max Domi has been downgraded from “literally invisible” to “he was hurt all along” and subsequently placed on IR (lower body) retroactive to November 16.

Big huge stud F Nikita Grebenkin has been recalled from the Toronto Marlies (AHL).
