That makes the Kings second behind the Rangers than right?

And wowowow Wild are way to high.

Edit: Also Panthers make the playoffs last year (almost knock out the Devils) and are still tied for worst odds in the league.....

Lots of easy bets to make this year.

Fla making the playoffs seems pretty solid.

Wait a second, the Oilers are tied for the 8th best odds to win the Stanley Cup? Yeah, OK

For people that like omen's and what not. Last game the Kings played ended 6-1 did it not??;)

Depending on a few cap related items the Rags could be in real trouble this year+next.

Redden counting this year and maybe having to buy out Richards in 2 yrs...

60/1 is about fair odds for the Islanders making an expanded 20 team playoffs if they have to play most of their games against the rest of the Atlantic Division.

The Rangers are favored over the Kings. Yeah... Sure.

Without getting too much into Vegas motivations (its all about the money), one reason may be they are returning the Vezina trophy winner and they obtained Nash in the off-season.

Most people still feel "the King" (how ironic) is a better goalie than "our King" and that is a motivating factor as well.

It will be interesting to see how far the Rangers go this year. I personally think they will meet the Kings in the SCF. If there is a weak spot with the Rangers, I feel its their coach's demeanor. That kind of behavior has a tendency to rub players the wrong way after a while...I am not sure how much longer it will be effective in New York.

Vegas will do whatever it takes to induce wagers. Vegas knows that traveling Canadians will (drunkingly) bet on their teams despite unfavorable odds. Similarly, popular teams (Lakers/Patriots/etc) usually get unfavorable odds since people will always put money on them.

Odds are based on how people bet not who vegas actually thinks is going to win. When the set the original lines, they are going to give bigger payouts for teams they feel are longshots to encourage betting. Once people start betting, odds will fluctuate depending on how many bets they are collecting. It is set up so it doesn't matter who wins, Vegas will still always collect more than they'll pay out on winning tickets. The odds have no basis in reality other than to serve as an enticement to get people to bet on all possibilities. Vegas doesn't care who wins because they ALWAYS win.. well almost always.

I like Phoenix. Not often you get 40/1 odds on a team owned by the league.
