Didn't get to see this one, but sounds like a better game by the Jets but not quite enough

This stretch of schedule is brutal

Right now we're in a stretch of 22 in 44 nights with 16 flights mixed in

Anyone who hasn't played a sport at a high level can't understand how that schedule and travel affects your body. For example, I used to be next to useless if we bussed and played on the same day.

Yes, all teams go through it. There will be nights where we catch teams not at their best. It's not a fluke that Florida dominated us down there and then got their asses kicked when they came to Winnipeg. Exact same two teams, just the scenario was reversed

Agreed, it's as much the constant traveling the last couple of weeks as it is the games.

Only watched about half the game, but what I saw was very good.
If the Jets lose and you didn't see the game NEVER come on here to get the story because the Debbie Downer flood the board with negativity.
The Barron / Stanley miscue keeps being mentioned but that was in the 1st period ... the game was tied 3-3 with 5 mins left. The last 2 mins Jets did every but score ... the game could have gone either way.
Two things I noticed in the game ... VGK scouted the Jets. Vegas had their wingers playing close to the Jets D in their DZ they anticipated and were ready for the quick passes.
The second thing about Vegas which every team should know is their big defensemen play a small 4 man box in front of their when there's pressure making it impossible to get a pass through or a rebound. Notice all 3 goals the Jets scored the pucks were shot from way out not close in.

Yeah that play was not on Stan at all!

Is Coghlan actually...pretty good? Dude has some serious offense I wasn't expecting. Not sure if it is him starting out on the right foot or if this could be what we have? But he looked really good to me.
I really liked his game. A couple of mistakes but he looked capable in all zones. I think he earned some more eyes.

This graph says A LOT and actually makes me feel better. Thanks for posting!

We all seem to know what we have in Stanley obviously for whatever reasons the coaching staff seems to think he can play at this level. As for Heinola we have no idea what he can do so far in his short NHL career. Need to see him for a longer stretch before we can write him off. I get it because of his size some have written him off and he might never become anything but he needs to get a fair shot
I think the coaching staff will manage his minutes considering what he's been through. I really don't think he was scratched due to play. I think he'll be in and out of the lineup and hopefully he can get up to speed and make it impossible to scratch him

So, my hot take is that actually I saw a lot of good in the game yesterday in the second and third period. There was obviously some terrible chances given up and too many high danger chances against, but I feel like the team is trending the right direction despite the loss in the last couple periods. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to decide where this team is going, but if they keep up the effort in the second and third, it should be better.

Yes, scouting is a thing. I would venture a guess that most if not all teams who have played or are going to play the Jets have or will have scouted them in person or with readily available video. I think that most on this board know that pressure on the Jets D in their zone is a pretty good strategy.

During the GDT someone thought that they gave Heinola the night off to see how his leg would react to game action, I think I agree with that. I saw no serious flaws in his game.

Yeah, that is my thoughts as well. I also suspect who we play will play a role in this. They likely thought they needed more size against Vegas. If guess we see Stanley against Dallas and St. Louis next week as well. Ville likely gets back in against the Sabres and Hawks as his puck movement and mobility would probably be more beneficial.

and that's not what you claimed which is moving goal posts, they deserved to wins majority of their games this season, they are good enough to be an 18-6 team, you are claiming you are being realistic when you are just being overly negative, you have been claiming we have been bad all season long and anytime we have struggled you jump in here to try and pat yourself on the back
Dude , I am not on trial here but thanks for putting words into my mouth. I have not said they are bad all year but at 3-5 over the last 8 and looking ar times like the team that lost in the playoffs has me concerned that the hot start was not sustainable and it looks like it is not. I will not stop coming on here to.voice my opinion just because people like you get offended. I am a season ticket holder since their return and have watchrd my fair share of hockey to know what is up. I am not inside the room nor do I have insider info but listen to Craig Button last night. He basically said what I have been saying for a couple weeks now. I am enjoy the fact you challenge me and won't back down. We are both passionate fans with opinions and that is better than the alternative. Let's hope for a win tomorrow but I am saying it now that they only win if Helly stands on his head and they lose to St.lou because they rarely win the first home game after a road trip. Cheers buddy!

Long season
Highs and lows happen
To the team and to this board.
This board is hilarious in the highs and the lows, not Toronto like but entertaining just the same.
A little rest eventually will help this club.
Well said! I tend to be a pessimist and realistic. No sandburg, scheif and Ehlers hurt..this could get worse before it gets better

Lambert is the natural fit in terms of style of play. I'd be giving him a look. We are already down a decent amount if skill with Fly out and Scheife banged up and clearly playing below his capabilities
Looking at Lamberts career it looks like he gets depressed or something to that effect, I'm sure I'm missing the word I want to use,but let's boost his confidence with a call up and maybe get his head straightened out because something isn't clicking with him.i mean what can it hurt gus is a I don't know but he ain't good and ajf is like gus.I've heard in years past that being on a losing team in the middle of a Manitoba winter can be a real drag on your emotions,is that going to be the mindset in the moose dressing room, I get you want guys that take pride in playing and thriving in the green bay of the north but we're in an age we're i have met guys in junior that never practiced outdoor even in house league.any way let Lambert have a Crack.

Pretty sure we don't see Nik for a while. Fefe is certainly nursing something, Vladdy has taken a beating lately and Demelo is off counting his money.
Haven't been able to watch many games lately but saw the replay. It looked like a minor sprain to the outside of his ankle--few games is my guess.
