Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Certainly not expecting anything in return for him but the question is will an asset have to be attached to him.

With the cap going up I don’t really think his contract is a big deal.

Oh you mean Ceci and Desharnais weren't actually the pillars of the Oilers D? I see Edmonton is in the top 8 again this year in best goals against as they were last year under Knoblaugh. Big shock. Nurse is having a very nice bounce back season freed of pylons like Desharnais and Ceci.

Didn’t like the contract from the start. Too many bottom pair or lower defensemen who can’t move the puck and he’s the most expensive

In a cap league $2m x2 actually is a big deal to a contending team at tge cap limit. He's a pure cap dump right now

And to think Edmonton fans were saying, 15 months ago, that Desharnais made acquiring a guy like Edmundson redundant

I would have to assume he’s not going to a contending team. Would be more of a cap dump for sure but to a bottom team. Could see a Chicago or SJ or a team with young guys looking for toughness add him.

Nobody is taking a 7D at 2M this year and next. "Cost controlled"

There's plenty of bad teams trying to keep young kids out of the lineup or away from the wrong side. We just saw Anaheim give up value for a big D on a much worse contract.

Nobody said that. We said your fan base being delusional as they usually are asking for a 1st wasn't worth it because we had a plug who did the same thing.

To be fair, your GM has been working magic so I wouldn't be surprised. I was surprised he signed such a bad player that was a 7D on our team to such an awful contract to begin with though.
