Took a paycut. Good man!

Very reliable and smart player.

There was a good stretch of run last season where Joshua-Bleuger-Garland was the best 3rd line in hockey.

I suspect that the Canucks will look to upgrade at 3C again during the season so they can have Bleuger as their 4C instead of their 3C but its perfectly fine to start the season with Bleuger as 3C.

Good deal for Vancouver. Below the $2.2m x 2y projection at AFP. On par with Evolving Hockey’s model of $1.8m x 2y.

Key PK contributor. Ideally a 4C on a playoff roster, but he can cover 3C aptly.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Vancouver starts the season with him at 3C and then looks for an upgrade at the deadline again.

Still leaves the Canucks around 17mil cap space after this signing. Obviously more if they can move Mikhayev or buy him out.

Well shit. I had to double check this wasn't just weirdly bumped from before with an extra year added for some reason. That's absolutely tremendous value.

He's a great 4th line checker, defensively responsible, hustles his ass off, key part of the PK. He's got literally no offense to offer, but he's shown that he can work beside Garland who will generate points no matter what...so whatever. He's either a 3rd line C who puts up 30pts playing with Garland or he's a 20pts 4th line C who does everything you want out of that role.

For $1.8M bucks, it's hard to go wrong for a couple years here.

Have to wonder if he took a peek at the market and didn't like what he saw much. Decided to opt for the security with a team he knows he fits with, likes the coaching staff and they like him. He fits with the group so well.
