Confirmed with Link: [VAN/NYR] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, & Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and 1st 2025 (Top-13 Protected, Unprotected after)

What an absolute disaster of a return.

Chytil (Shityl?) is a borderline negative value asset. NYR just took us to the cleaners.

There aren’t even words for how much I hate this. Window is closed. 100 point matchup C for an overpaid 3C with concussion issues and a 5D prospect.

Hopefully we trade Pettersson now too because I really don’t want to watch either of these immature losers ever play for this team again. They’ve both totally f***ed this team and the fans.

Main parts of this deal, which was never going to be a home run for the value that Miller can provide (when he's on his game and not moping):

1. Management has finally stepped in to solve the Pettersson and Miller rift, which as been absolutely dragging this team down mentally for months, and was always leading to this outcome. They chose the younger player who has put up elite numbers before the age of 25 instead of the 32 year old with 5 years left on his deal.

2. We did not retain any money on this and have opened up 3.6MM for the next couple of years.

3. We got a first round pick which should be used as trade ammo to bring back more present value pieces.

If this revitalizes Pettersson's career and he embraces being "the guy", then we are far better off now than at any point this season. Mancini should be an upgrade short and long term over Juulsen and Desharnais types. But at the end of the day we were always going to feel like we lose a deal on face value.

Got the first to either stock prospect pool or flip for dman

Kept 100 point selke calibre Pettersson

Chytil is underrated.

Have capspace to go after Rantanen/Marner

This is a win IMO

Chytil is one hit away from his career being over.

He can't even play with playoff-level intensity because he's always gotta be looking over his shoulder for a career-ending hit.

I hate this trade.

Rutherford and Allvin have proved a level of incompetence this season that not only wipes away everything they did last season, but calls into question whether they should be in charge of this team in the long term.

Their next few moves are going to be make-or-break for their time here IMO.

First-rounder going to Vancouver is top-13 protected this year, Post has learned. If NYR are in top 13 this year, it would become unprotected first rounder next year.

Whoah! It would be crazy if NYR didn’t improve this year and it became an unprotected first the year after next!

You don't really mind this return after thinking he could return Heiskanen from Dallas? What the hell?
You're frequently hilarious my guy hahah, keep it up pls & thx
What's the word on Mancini?

Chytil as a center piece f***ing blows.

Hopefully they can flip that pick for something useful because that seems like an awful deal for the Canucks.
He looked solid if not a little underripe in the half dozen games i saw of him, and definitely going from Lindgrens trash contract to Mancini and a first is a big upgrade.

Added scoreboard watching excitement. Do we cheer for the Rangers to finish 14 from the bottom, or do we want the unprotected pick?

I know; it doesn't matter because the pick will be traded.

Meh. Thanks for the memories Millsy. I will miss Miller time. It was pretty obvious he was only going to NYR. Marconi and the 1st are interesting. Chytil is maybe our 2nd C so Pettersson better smarten up or gtfo

The 11 overall pick as of now is the center piece imo. But Miller may be enough to push the NYR into the playoffs so the value of the pick could decline.
I wonder if they have a deal to flip the first already in place to acquire Byram?
If they can get Byram for that 1st then this is looking a lot better. We have a big hole in the top 6, more holes once Boeser is traded.
