Confirmed with Link: [VAN/NYR] JT Miller, Erik Brannstrom, & Jackson Dorrington for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and 1st 2025 (Top-13 Protected, Unprotected after)

I don’t think they're done yet.... getting a first and two breathing humans for Miller is not bad given the situation, IMO of course.
I don't really mind it, after the last few MONTHS of drama, the addition by subtraction alone will be valuable, we save money, get younger and better defensively, and clearly are going to add.

I'm not even a big ep fan but I can definitely understand the logic of moving the older, more one dimensional player and seeing if 15 pts in 10 games ep returns .

I mean he’s a 32 year old having a down season so we couldn’t expect much. Pettersson better step up his game now or send his ass packing next. Let see what else they do before judging this too harshly.

Season-ending, franchise-crippling return.

I don't give a f*** how much of an asshole yapper Miller is, I don't give a f*** if Blueberries got caught up in the media drama, you don't make this trade EVER.

He and his teammates are either multi-millionaires or multi-millionaires with job security. If they can't be f***ing professionals and put up with each other for four more f***ing months, they're hopeless. They'd never survive playing with the likes of Wendell Clark or Bobby Hull. Hell, sounds like they'd sit on a corner and cry if Tony DeAngelo was in the roster instead of feeding him punches.

There are too many hands in this move, which is the worst part. A failure of leadership, a managerial failure, a failure from our star players. Miller may have brought it upon himself, but interpersonal relationships are a part of any job and everyone involved failed miserably at that.

I hope trading Miller means Petey can actually play like a 11.6m C because this is just a garbage return

But I guess when you have a player who wants out, everyone knows he wants out, and only a few teams want him as well as the player having a NMC… you’re kinda f***ed

I'm pretty bullish on Chytil so i'm not super upset about the return. The 1st will obviously be flipped for another player soon. Don't know much about Mancini but he looks like a better bet than Lindgren. We also clear up a contract slot in the trade. Not a bad trade tbh.

Miller is also getting older and plays a hard game, the injuries are already starting to crop up. He could be an untradeable asset in a couple seasons.

well maybe they'll call up Mancini and then bench Juulsen.. would that be a win?
2 months from now Mancini is sitting in the press box for Willander. Unless they have a weird plan to trade their top prospect as well.

Nah, they're completely incompetent clowns to let it get to this point in the first place. Trading a 1st line center for Chytil and a protected 1st in a weak draft is inexcusable.

I just mean in evaluating this trade, not in evaluating the whole set of facts.

I don't really mind it, after the last few MONTHS of drama, the addition by subtraction alone will be valuable, we save money, get younger and better defensively, and clearly are going to add.

You don't really mind this return after thinking he could return Heiskanen from Dallas? What the hell?

Brannstrom and Dorrington must be to balance contracts and for the Rangers to salvage a prospect back.

Overall the deal sets the Canucks up well to use the 1st and the cap space to do something. We still have more meaningful D prospects (Mynio, DPetey, KK) to flip as well as our own 1st - should be something big because you can't be satisfied with Chytil.

Underwhelming......but then there really was never any other way this was going to turn out. Miller was at the bottom of the market cycle, and other teams just weren't willing to buck up.

But if the moves made by Allvin and Rutherford in the past, mean anything, they probably have another deal already in the works. That Rangers first rounder probably figures prominently in the next deal.
