I thought the fair deal with him was the same deal Weegar got in October 2022. Not terrible considering it's only $1 million a year more, but it's still a bit too much.

As a Canucks fan, I'm totally fine with this. He helped to unlock Hughes this year, and was easily the best partner he's ever had.

Losing him would have been disastrous for the D core.

Slight overpay in the strictest sense, but a prime aged RHD and a rising cap make it palatable

Weegar is probably better so it’s a fair point but his deal also started at 30 rather than 27 so that has to factor in as well.
