Yeah. It'd be nice to keep Friedman around, as he's a solid enough veteran 7/8 who seems to know his role. Also knows the system which is a plus.

But he's not quite good enough, or big enough to play his game at a dependable "everyday" bottom-pairing level over time. More limited to filling that role in short stints. But that's fine in a #7/8D. That's pretty much the gig.

Wouldn't cry over him being claimed as a journeyman depth D...but i'd certainly prefer to have him clear.

I liked him too but Sullivan still kept playing Chud Turdwedel over him for likely some dumb reason Sullivan will never reveal. I'm more shocked Chud is still in the NHL actually. Friedman on the other hand, would definitely be some nice depth for a RHD right about now for the Pens.
