It’s infinitely more funny now because Mikheyev and Zadorov both live in Miami, presumably in the same building / are neighbours and super close friends.

If it helps ensure Zadorov and Joshua stay, I'm in favor of it. I don't like this team trading so many draft picks but I guess in this case that's just the cost of doing business.
2020's

2020 1st for Miller so good.
2020 2nd for Toffoli - ended up a rental due to Benning
2020 3rd Jurmo - didn't work out. Part of Lindholm deal

2021 1st for OEL/Garland yeah....
2021 2nd on Klim, so not going to pan out
2021 3rd Dickinson, didn't work.

2022 1st Lekky
2022 2nd OEL trade
2022 3rd D. Petey

2023 1st Wallinder
2023 2nd (Hronek trade)
2023 3rd Bruz (Lindholm trade)

2024 1st (Lindholm trade)
2024 2nd Dickinson dump
2024 3rd have it still

2025 1st and 2nd have it for now
2025 3rd (Pearson trade)

2026 1st and 2nd have them
2026 3rd (Zadorov trade)

Not a lot of long term assets from that list. Miller, Garland, Hronek.

Once again, Allvin/JR are able to take in new information, understand that a player is no longer a fit and becoming an inefficient contract, and go out and execute on finding them a new home so we can bring in players who are part of the solution.

They've moved off of Pearson, Dickinson, OEL, Kuzmenko, and now Mikeyev since they took over the team.

Really now, what's the most inefficient contract on the roster? Garland? Best the Financials have looked in years.

Yeah and I would argue that Garland is not bad either, might be a luxury we eventually have to part with, but most if not all our current contracts are pretty ok.

Of course if it was not for OEL we'd be in even better shape.

I love Garland, but I would not be opposed to trading him if we think we can add a bit more size and speed in our top 6 by moving him.

I can't believe we paid OEL to win a Cup on another team

That is what will happen when you keep your GM on the hotseat vs fire them. They make desperate moves.

Rumour out there is that Kevyn Adams in Buffalo is looking at dealing for Necas.

GMs that I think are likely under the hot seat are:
Blake in LA, Adams in Buffalo, Fitzgerald in NJ. (2 of them have made big trades already).

Hate to lose a 2nd but it needed to be done. The important thing is that this management group recognizes mistakes instead of letting them fester until you can no longer even get rid of the issue on your cap.

It's a silly thing but I am like heart eyes emoji for Garland since he put on the neck guard. But it ain't a reason to get in the way of a proper upgrade.
