Woof. Seems bad for both sides. I don't get this rationale at all.
Awful from the Canucks POV
Texier and a 1st for Miller, a player they might not even be able to resign. Dear god. These boards, that's an overpayment and clearly Canuck fans saying no, know nothing of Texier.
I thought the deal was a good one for Vancouver... or at least had the potential to be
Is Texier presently a PPG+ player? Because until Benning is removed, everything he is going to do is focused on "getting to the playoffs" to continue his employment, which is still a legitimate goal in his mind.
He projects as a top 6 C and that pick could end up a lotto pick. Seems liek a smart move for Vancouver.
In theory, the addition of Miller should push Columbus further away from the lottery...

He hasn't been standing wise for Vancouver so technically I don't see him a difference marker for Bluejackets
Columbus would be replacing Texier - a player with 3 points in 10 games - with a player who has 15 points in 13 games, and you don't think that makes the Blue Jackets a more competitive team?
