Caps fan here... what would you give us *before the draft* for Cap's 24 and 25 1st Round Picks + Kuznetsov. Just a thought experiment, but offers have to be reasonable value and Caps are taking the stance that Kusy WILL significantly rebound with YOUR team (in other words, dont bother responding with low ball offers for his part of this package,if you think he is washed up).

Kuznetsov with retention (from the Caps or some other team) might get you some solid pieces in return, assuming he can rebound into a 70 ish point centre. The Avs might be interested?

if you consider kusy positive value, why would you combine him in a package with picks? a contender might be interest in kusy for futures. while the picks are more interesting for a rebuilder.

The 24+25 1st rounders are valuable to a rebuilding team, Kuznetsov is valuable to a team trying to win today, in need of a C and with cap space. The package doesn't really make sense unless you think Kuznetsov is washed up and the cost of getting those picks.

I don’t really understand what you’re going for here. You assume Kuznetsov rebounds and you trade him. If you want futures, why include the ‘24 and ‘25 picks? If you want win now pieces, wouldn’t a rebounded Kuznetsov be more valuable than whatever you could get from a team who hopes he can rebound?

All I can think is you’re just adding assets hoping to land McDavid or Bedard, but neither of those teams will want anything to do with this.

As a thought experiment to counter Caps fans who want to give those away to move up a couple of spots to grab Michkov, to be honest.

You are correct. To show the value of theCap's 24 and 25 1st Round Picks they should be offers separately.
