Man, Barnes might even end up better then Jalen Green. He looks like a Magic Johnson/ Giannis hybrid out their. Not saying he’s going to be that obviously he’s played 2 games but man just stylistically he plays like that and his defence is on another planet compared to Green. I would takes Barnes over Green, honestly.

i think tonight nurse should give dragic a ton of minutes, he only played 10 mins last night so he should be fresh
tell him "if you want to play for dallas to compete for a chip, go out the and show them why they need you"

I think this is why he didn't play much

One thing about this team is we are tough man. If you get in the paint some one will be physical with you. The length makes it uncomfortable and I love how scottie yells after a dunk. Our identity this year hopefully grows to a mean team that's a nightmare on defence which can lead to easy transition buckets.

We will struggle in the half court without siakam but this has been fun to watch so far

yep, our half court will be ugly but at least now we have to length to get offensive boards which will help. that length is also a nightmare on defensive, all the opposing teams see is arms lol. theres like half a dozen players in the nba capable of guarding 1 - 5 and we have 2 of them in our starting 5.

Looking like a franchise player, it's early but it seems Masai struck gold once again, so fortunate to have an elite front office. It's looking like we got 2 elite FO's in the city, the Raps and now the Jays, too bad there can't be 3...it really should've been 3.

How good can Scottie be anyway? 25 and 13 in his second ever NBA game and on the road to boot, that's mighty impressive.

20 year old rookie, in his second game playing in a very hostile environment against what should be a good team...and he just CRUSHES the Celtics and silences that Boston crowd.

So this is a weird change of procedure: You guys didn't watch the Leafs game but I did :P
honestly, the leafs just kind of stress me out, i guess its just the multiple years of expectations that they havent lived up to, i dont look at them the same way anymore. still love a good hockey game but its a different vibe for me a bit this year. raps have no expectations and just kinda play a fun, joyful style of basketball thats nice to watch. still a fan of both for sure, but i know win or lose this raps team wont make me feel badly after a loss lol.

Barnes was the best player on the court last night. I wasn't expecting that type of performance at both ends of the court in his second game in the NBA.

He's obviously going to have plenty of ups and downs, but that was a great sign.

That's mostly why I was watching that hockey game, because it was Sharks/Leafs and while the Sharks are likely going to suck this year, they've so far proven to be a high-energy, scrappy team with enough intriguing youth that it makes their no-stakes success entertaining.

lol as we speak the leafs are dissapointing again, i have the game on my other screen but have only watched during raps commercials.

On one hand with have Edward being a huge Blue Jays supporter and proponent. On the other, we have him wanting to push out the best executive under the entire sporting enterprise umbrella of the company.

That is the scary part in all of this. He has been a major supporter of Shapiro basically giving him what he wants to make this team better. A lot makes sense now. Remember when Masai stated that Toronto is where he wanted to be unless someone told him that they werent interested in investing in building a winner again. Well this all makes sense.

Ibaka, Gasol were allowed to walk before last season. And then Powell was dealt. Did Mr Rogers not allow for these players to be retained? Sure sounds like there was a power struggle.

The money was there for Masai to bring back all three players but it was Masai and Webster who made the decision to let Ibaka walk and trade Powell.

Powell just isnt worth the money he wanted. MLSE gave the Raptors every bit of money they wanted; Siakam. OG and Fred just got big deals.

Raptors offered Ibaka $14M on a 1 year deal but he wanted at least 2 years and to be the starter and Masai walked away because he wanted flexibility to chase Giannis in case he became a FA. Serge took less AAV and ended up becoming the backup/hurt.

Raps wanted Gasol but Gasol gave the classic, "its not you, its me" as he said the Raptors need him to be a starter and he cant give them that so he took a lesser role to go to LA.

So the front office messed up and lost both.

I wouldn't say messed up - taking a chance that Giannis hit free agency was worth losing Ibaka. Anyhow, it turned out to be a blessing - made our tank job easier and we ended up with Scottie.

Ibaka and Gasol suck(ed) so losing them was a plus

hmm not so sure i agree, they were/are pointless on a non contending team, so letting them go was a no brainer, but they both had an important role in that chip. without gasols floor spacing and embiid dominance we probably dont win that series for one.
