I think its more of a this is a growing and rebuilding team with a lot of injuries.
This team has to be 100% healthy to be a 8-10 team in the conference. They just don't have the horses or the depth at this stage of their development. Achiuwa is a rim protector who fouls quite a bit. Siakam is lazy as hell picking up 4 or 5 fouls into the third quarter every game. We miss Anunoby's defence and Birch's rim protection. Without Trent Jr. our defence suffers as well. We're not running and using our athleticism on offence and if Freddy has an off game we don't have anyone who will score. Barnes is playing too many minutes and can't carry a team yet, making rookie mistakes. But, he's going to be great and all these minutes will pay off in the future.

They're missing two of their top players.

They aren't a playoff team unless 100 percent healthy and that too a lower seed team. They're pretty young too so this will be a process.

Honestly I wouldn't mind another high draft pick, it's fine if they don't do well this year as a record, but improve individually.

I figured Scottie Barnes would develop a 3 point shot, didn’t think it would happen 20 games into his rookie year.

Siakim is having an awesome game

This has been such a hot and cold season for this team. Sometimes they're heading for the playoffs, sometimes a high draft pick. Dunno which I'm wishing for.....

Siakam was awesome, after basically ruining the team chemistry on his return.

We can't win at home. Except when we do.

The bench is useless, then they win us a game.

OG is amazing when he's healthy. He's injured again and it's becoming lengthy.

The new guys are useless and except when they play great (I'm becoming a fan of Precious).

The only real constant has been Scotty Barnes who has been every bit as good as hoped for, except for his shot which is better than hoped.

i think if we are in limbo my personal opinion is always to build character but tank. This is a super star league and chances are to get them through draft. Gives us moreplaying chips as well potentially to trade.

Indiana is apparently considering opening up the yard sale on their bigger players as they ponder tearing it down and rebuilding.

I would like one gently used Damontas Sabonis please.

One of Sabonis or Turner would be perfect fits here and exactly what we need.

Trents salary would almost fit a Sabonis trade. I don't see the Raptors moving futures which would be required to pick up a player like him.

There's a Pacers teardown roundtable on The Athletic where several of their writers discuss the mechanics of moving out their biggest players. They spend all of like 5 sentences mentioning the Raptors, essentially concluding that while Myles and Sabonis would each be a great fit, the Raptors lack assets they'd be willing and able to part with to give the Pacers a necessarily sizable return. And then they spend most of the piece fantasizing about shipping Ben Simmons to Indy.

That said, I think Sabonis offers a great chance to help re-focus the offence with a capable scoring big who can rebound and make plays, which would also free up Barnes to need to be less of a facilitator for the offence

Meanwhile I watched tonight's game, the first one I was able to in quite some time, and saw the Raps blow it against the absolutely woeful Thunder. That's... kind of depressing if I wasn't also secretly hoping for the team to secure one more year of collecting a high end draft pick to boost the young core.
