Yeti is my clear favorite, Blizzard is an acceptable but very distant second. Outlaws just feels too generic to me, Mammoth doesn't sound right from my perspective, Venom is just stupid, and Hockey Club is just a lazy placeholder that might as well just be a "none of the above" option.

They're all bad but Mammoth and Yeti provide the most intriguing mascot options.

Really only Yeti and Mammoth are appealing in terms of marketing, which as we should all know is the main driver in naming a team.
Outlaws? How are you going to sell that?
HC? Boring. They need to get as many fans excited.
Blizzard and Venom are ECHL/AHL quality names.

You're not exactly a marketing genius are you?

Dim the lights a bit, start with this theme

Showcase sharpshooters and hits instead of gunslingers.

You have all the Utah history with Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch, there's a whole movie about it!

Come to think of it, that theme music is perfectly adaptable to a goal song.

You're right. I think this would be an incredible opportunity for Utah.

From what little I have read about Ryan Smith, it doesn't seem like he's the type to really go for it, but I known what Bill Foley would do with this opportunity.

Said it in the other thread, but Outlaws sounds like a terribly uninspired name from beer league hockey.

Feel like I've seen that name a ton in various leagues growing up, intramurals, beer league, etc.

I thoroughly expect to buy my kids yeti plushies.

I know I'd rather outlaws but my beer league team also uses a logo like an outlaw so maybe I'm biased.

Also, Ennio Morricone was brilliant with those scores.

Gunslingers? Cowboys? Those all work.

Outlaws wouldn't work in this day and age. Too much negative connotation.

Gunslingers is the no go, not Outlaws. There's no way to make guns work politically because of current political issues.

Outlaws never has to be explicit about any crimes or guns or anything of the such. Likely just allusions to the 1870-1900 wild west era.

In general violence and war are acceptable themes for sports teams if it's referring to something from a century plus ago. No one is going to be protesting a Butch Cassidy reference.
