Think this may happen too. They were rehabbing him prior to his injury and seemed interested in getting him some NHL games before he was claimed.

Not really fair to say the Leafs moved on from him. He was injured in training camp before even a pre-season game was played and then when healthy had to go on waivers to go to the Marlies and was claimed.

Leafs really haven't seen him at all to even know what they have

I think if you claim him you have to once again put him on waivers to get him to the AHL.

Not if no one else put in a claim. Because we were the original team that had his right before he was waived and claimed by Utah.
