In comparison, Pittsburgh mortgaged most of their youth to keep a pointless playoff streak going, and when it ended they had no choice but to give up Guentzel and have no foreseeable young prospects for the future. Their best young prospect is a goalie that routinely gets lit up by NHL competition.
