Okay US fans, post your line combos for Torino. Here's what I got:

Rolston - Modano - Knuble
Tkachuk - Weight - Guerin
Cole - Gomez - Gionta
Drury - Conroy - Parrish

Schneider - Rafalski
Hatcher - Liles
Chelios - Leopold

Esche
DiPietro
Grahame

Works for me, although I think you'll see Aaron Miller paired with Leopold leaving Chelios as the 7th defenseman. There's also a possibility Parrish is the 13th forward with Jason Blake taking his spot on the 4th line.

im canadian but heres i could see:
Rolston - Modano - Knuble
Cole - Gomez - Gionta
Drury - Conroy - Guerin
Tkachuk - Weight - Blake

Schneider - Rafalski
Hatcher - Liles
Chelios - Leopold

not much different from yours.

Ugh, I respect Tkachuk, and in the astounding 10 games he's played this season he's done great, but this guy can't stay healthy! His hand won't magically heal for the olympics out of nowhere, I basically don't think he should start. Whatever, either way the 13th forward is going to be on the team with someone like him playing. It figures that a Ranger fan is only willing to switch the Isladers for 12th and 13th forwards  ;)

Anyways, I think Laviolette has a good relationship with Blake and Parrish (more sure about Blake). He knows how they play better than anyone else, and they know his style more than anyone else. I definitely think Parrish and Blake will be playing at least because of this.

Well today was his 11th game and the dude has yet another goal :yo:
I agree he has trouble stayin healthy, but if he is..he's gotta be playing..

Gionta and Gomez will be on the same line.

Don't really argue with the lines and defense but Grahame should be the starting goalie. Esche and DiPietro both have GAA above 3.00 and save percentages under .900. Not to be morbid but I hope one of them come up lame so Miller can replace them.

I don't think anyone (Laviolette included) has any idea who will end up playing the most in goal for the US. I would think we'd see 3 different starters in the first 3 games, and then just go with whoever looks the best. We'll need to find a bonafide #1 for those last two group games.

I like this except I would bump Rolston with Gomez and Gionta and have Drury with Conroy and Blake

Well, if you based this season's performance as the measuring stick, there shouldn't be any argument that Grahame should be #1 and their best goalie is probably going to be wasting away on the taxi squad. Let's hope Esche or DiPietro don't have any unfortunate "accidents" over the next week... :sarcasm:

Especially considering that he coached them to great success on Long Island I would be surprised if either Jason Blake or Mark Parrish was scratched as every single poster in this thread has predicted. Both are so underrated it sickens me. Likewise I think that DiPietro's 40 save showing against Pittsburgh will put people a little more at ease about him--in any case he is the starter.

Tkachuk-Modano-Guerin
Cole-Gomez-Gionta
Drury-Weight-Parrish
Blake-Rolston-Knuble

Rafalski-Liles
Chelios-Hatcher
Schnieder-Leopold

DiPietro
Esche

Bret Hedican has replaced Aaron Miller, and the taxi squad is going to be Matt Cullen, Paul Martin and Ryan Miller.

The only reason Miller didn't make the team is because Waddell didn't want his golden boy DiPietro to have any competition for the starting job. I hope Esche is too hurt to play and Waddell is forced to look even more stupid when Miller comes in and steals a medal for the States.

Good lines but Modano usually plays with Tkachuk and Guerin. They have always played together in the past. Blake will play over Parrish.

Yeah, I actually have a good feeling about Ricky going into this tournament. He strikes me as the type of goaltender who relishes pressure and big games. I don't think he's been in enough of them in his short carreer to really guage that at this point though.

Grahame has looked good recently, but I think he's best suited as a guy who comes off the bench to give a team a lift if your #1 falters. I think Ricky would be more the carry-a-team-on-his-back type guy.
