I love shootouts. It should not be taken out of the World Juniors.

Just my opinion.

I think I'm the semis and Finals it should be. This game was incredible. To end it in a skills comp..

FWIW - My kid absolutely loves shootouts and began cheering for the States when it was 4-2 so they tie it

Big congrats to the USA, well earned victory.

jj, as we've always discussed, in victory or defeat at the medal round, we always show respect. If we lose, never excuses. The USA deserved the win and went undefeated en route to Gold.

We've had our moments over them (recently -- 2002 Olympics, 2010 Olympics, 2014 Olympics, 2016 World Cup). They fully deserved victory, and nothing but respect to the American team.

Good job neighbour, you can rub it in now. Shame it had to end this way, I would have said the same thing either way.

Thank you USA for the thrilling game. We'll meet again, until next time ;).

Edit: To add, the Canadian kids have nothing to be ashamed of and honoured their country. Absolutely did not let their country down, those boys played their hearts out.

This isn't just reactionary, but I really think the USA will surpass Canada as a hockey nation in 5-10 years. The participation numbers for hockey in Canada are really troubling.
It's cyclical. Canada has had a great run with the Crosby, Getzlaf, Perry, Carter/Richards, Toews, Weber core from 2005 to now, but nothing lasts forever, eventually another nation will get their turn.

As I anticipated. The best game of the season. And maybe top10 all time. :O

Hopefully you didn't miss it, kiddos.

Thanks team USA and team Canada. And congrats, USA.

What a thriller rollercoaster of a hockey game.

I'd argue 2nd best game I've seen next to the roller coaster "Eberle Magic" game, though the Toews game is up there too.

Canadian shooters looked pretty bad in the shootout, but Parsons was locked in from the start of OT

championships should not be decided in shootouts the game should not have ended that way

Agreed. Such a stupid way to end the game and the tournament. That game needed to go into continuous OT. Hell even make it 4 on 4 for the next period. To end it in a shootout like that just ruined a classic game.
