Russia is a bit of a weird team...no matter how much they struggle against the minnows, not matter how badly they get outplayed against the other big teams, when all is said and done they are always right there contending for a medal.

Huh? He made several great plays in that period and was one of the best players up until the russian goal. After that he made one really bad giveaway but that's about it. Made a lot of small, smart plays in the first 15 minutes of the game and allowed the US to keep pushing the pace. Then obviously he jumped into the play and got an assist on the tying goal, which was a nice play as well.

I think that's overly harsh. I only saw one bad giveaway but he had many positive plays that you probably didn't see. Definitely a net positive that period.

would also help if some of the wingers made themselves available for a pass instead of standing around, when he went back to retrieve pucks.

Did you key in on him on every shift and watch every play he did? I did and I saw 3-5 really nifty plays from Jones before that russian goal. To say he had one good shift is really disingenious.

Yeah I thought he had time on both of the plays early on. Probably just nerves.
