Ray Ferrero makes a valid point on twitter. Russia had Kaprizov and Vorobyov shooting 4th and 5th, their best 2 offensive players this tournament. This makes you believe the coach knew that it was a 5 round shootout

No they are not but presumably the main broadcaster of the tournament would make a point to ask the authority figure on the matter about the format changes before they'd make a point to explain these new format changes 5 or 6 times on TV.

Moreso than some website maker which 90% of his job is to copy paste the exact same things from the previous years website to this website.

Thank you. I just think this is quite embarrassing tbh, no matter the outcome. Things like this should be crystal clear for everyone everywhere.

Bragin was probably told.

why does everyone use what TSN say as facts? TSN is The Sports Network, right? how are they an authority? Enlighten a confused swede here please.

I'm not sure why TSN would be fabricating rule changes like that, but I found another source referring to an announcement on IIHF site titled "3-on-3 OT in 2017", but the site seems to be down.

People realize that rules posted on a website are just a reproduction of the rules for informational purposes for fans, right? And that official rules are almost always going to be contained in documents held by the governing bodies, but made available to the contestants prior to play?

A website not being updated is meaningless.

Vorobyov isn't a shooter. Personally the only change to the order would have been Kaprizov second but whatever.

When Sidorov went out celebrating Bragin gave up a pretty stern look. So I think he knew.

Anyway, sending good vibes to the US in the final. I hope they win.

USA adapted. Samsonov was cheating going left and right for the first few shooters (and penalty shot). Terry exposed it, Bracco used it and everyone saw how Terry tied and won it.

I don't agree. He was a bit overaggressive on the penalty shot and got a little lucky there. He played the first two in the shootout very well, though, with little/no cheating involved, just very patient and quick to follow the moves. Terry's 1st was just a great shot. On Bracco's goal, he did seem to try to force the winning save and opened up too much, that was the only one he kind of misplayed. Terry's 2nd and 3rd were just perfectly done. Samsonov gave him very little on either.
