Russians got shafted it seems. According to swedish broadcasters the IIHF rulebook says it should be 3 rounds in the SO, yet they continued despite Russia winning it. If it really was 5 rounds and not 3 then it's a big mistake for the refs not to communicate that prior to the shootout. Anti-climactic end for sure.

I realize that scheduling doesn't allow for OT to last forever, but 90% of elimination round shootouts would be avoided if OT was 20 min.

Hilariously poor commenting on TSN radio. First the announcers said Russia won after the third round. Then they actually couldn't count the number of shooters and thought the Americans had a chance to win it when the Russians ended up starting a new round.

Now they claim they are reading the rule book and say the shootout is only three rounds so Russia should have won.

On the NHL network broadcast they clearly stated it was 5 rounds
