You have no way of knowing they would have lost the game with Woll either. The Swiss were destroyed by Finland... the only game Finland won, by the way. The same Finland who is playing in the relegation round.

I have a good idea the USA started their best players, as Canada or any of the teams playing in the 1/4 finals rather than to suggest they were playing inferior players to rest supposedly better players and risk elimination. I don't think you are giving the Swiss enough credit here.

If Woll starts next game, would you still feel the USA is playing their best players in the semis?

Why are you so insistent on replacing Parsons? Was he not one of the main reasons why the USA won today?

I'm not. I'm just asking you a simple question. You can't say that a team is playing their best players as the basis of your argument if you're going to retract that statement in a more important game when it doesn't align with your beliefs.

If Parsons plays next game, and the finals (assuming USA qualifies), I would have no issue saying he was the number 1 goaltender. However, if Woll does... I think it's hard to make the case that Parsons is. Right now, it's been suggested that Woll will play next game. It doesn't bode well for Parsons being the bonafide #1 when Woll keeps getting the tougher competition.

As of right now, Woll has a better save percentage. Your entire argument is based on the belief that Parsons is getting the significant games. Statistically, Woll has been getting the tougher competition. If Woll has the higher save percentage, AND he plays in the tougher games... it's really hard to make the case that Parsons is the #1 goalie.

If Woll plays next game and gets a shutout and Parsons starts in the finals... then we can simply say they were just alternating.
