Is Miller primarily a LW? He plays a bit of C as well, no?
What’s the earliest he could come back?
I guess no one knows.was wondering that exact same thing.
Maybe we don't have enough good blueliners again - seems like a perennial observation. With Muzzin out, it makes the Leafs that much more desperate and ripe for an overpayment. So I would expect our GM is now in his comfort zone.
I guess no one knows.
I think we're going for Miller and Chariot and betting it all on Campbell figuring it out. Miller is basically the perfect solution for our second line and makes our forward group downright scary. Chariot may be overpriced but he'll cost a lot less than Chyc and you know exactly what you're getting from him. If we pull this off it's going to be at a very steep price but it'd be hard not be excited about icing that group.
Thanks. From what I've read if a guy is on LTIR... the player has to miss 24 days or 10 games. Whatever comes first I think.
So basically about a week before the deadline.
After that it just depends on how he is doing before he is able to come back.
I think in this case with a head injury, I don't think anyone is going to put up to big a deal if he's back around playoffs. Especially considering what Tampa got away with that last year.
Thanks.
So theoretically the Leafs could spend this extra money and then need to turn around and dump it if he feels he is ok to play?
Thanks. Yeah, I agree, I was just curious about the 'what if?'I suppose so but I'm guessing they'll know forsure way before then if he'll be out until the playoffs or even longer.
I don't think they'll make a huge move unless they know he's done until at least the playoffs.
Yep, LTIR only allows us to add if Muzzin is going to be out until the end of the regular season. Which basically means you need a wink-wink handshake deal with Muzzin that he's going to be 'injured' for the next 32 games. While it certainly could be season ending I'm not sure how you make that prediction with a head injury, it's not like a knee or broken bone that has a 6-8 week timeline or something, he could be fine in a week, a month or it could take much longer, who knows.Thanks.

The only real benefit without the handshake deal is it allows the Leafs to run a 23 man roster, but then you're not accruing cap space for the deadline, so a bit of a double edged sword there.
Just want to say your OR should be an AND.From what I've read if a guy is on LTIR... the player has to miss 24 days or 10 games. Whatever comes first I think.

I don't believe Marner missed 10 games when on LTIR.Just want to say your OR should be an AND.
He didn’t, NHL made an exception because they cancelled games because of Covid.I don't believe Marner missed 10 games when on LTIR.
