So with Murray on LTIR what does this do for cap space?
Leafs can use his cap space to go above the cap further.
So the Leafs will likely recall Robertson, Mete and Simmonds.

Got us a starting goalie at 1.8M and 4.7M cap relief !Fire Dubas into the sun!
Sure, let's go with that. It's a work, just like everything else in life.Did Kyle intend this all along to get the cap relief?
We can use his LTIR space in the meantime. Can’t reactivate Murray unless we have 4.75 AAV available though. Ultimately, we’ll need to make a trade and quit running a 20-man roster with no cap space that also doesn’t accrue cap space because it’s stupid. So with Murray on LTIR what does this do for cap space?
It’s 4D chess! My feeble mind.Sure, let's go with that. It's a work, just like everything else in life.

Samsonov with a chance to get the job. At least we can carry extra players now

They've called Kallgren up, instead of waiting until tomorrow to go the Emergency Callup route - that means they've immediately put Murray on LTIR, just hours after injury.
It's not a minor groin pull.
We trade for Kane at 50% and run 6 on 5 all game.
Yikes!
Where is Woll?
Is he also injured?
We should give him a stint. He had solid #s last year in 4 games
I'd rather him then Kallgren
I’m not reading anything into the LTIR. This is the perfect situation for the leafs. It could still be a minor groin pull but they want him to take his time with it. This also buys the leafs time by putting him on LTIR. They can keep a strong roster before making a move. To me this is let’s take the extra precautions and also solve our cap situation. Compared to this is a huge injury.
Potentially, I think regardless whether it was a minor injury or big injury for Matt Murray he was going on LTIR. It helps the leafs to give him as much time to deal with any injury and also helps them with their cap situation.Smells like Mrazek 2.0 but anything is possible.
