Knock on wood it doesn't happen since I was excited about seeing how Murray would do this year with a better team, but starting him gives me visions of him being pulled mid-game after making a sliding save because the groin flared up.

Agreed, and an unnecessary risk. The Leafs medical staff has a pretty bad track record with the goalies

It depends on the cause of the discomfort. We only know that the discomfort was apparent to someone. If he is good to go, he should play. Caution should be from the medical staff and not from Twitter.

There is always someone available for an ATO. He was going to be at the game tonight even if Murray was perfectly healthy.

Samsonov will be given chances and at 1.8 million that's good. But we need 2 good goalies not 1. If Murray sucks I just hope they have a plan or a way to LTIR him so we can go out and get a Varlamov or any type of 1A/1B option that's better then Murray.

Fit narratives? The guy’s career is a “narrative” now. So is Matthews a gifted goal scorer a “narrative”? Dude is injury prone and that’s the central debate about Murray going forward. He tweaks something, according to the coach and we’re not supposed to notice?

Ill stand by my questioning he play at all, as an abundance of caution, why not just go with Sam. If he does get injured in this game, you open yourself to a world of second guessing, I just rest him, it’s October. He didn’t leave practice over nothing, so I don’t get it.

I guess on the plus side, this debate about playing means it isn’t too serious.
