So with “injury prone” down, it’s up to you “head-case”. What a time to be alive.

Relax, he‘s listed as probable….

One of the biggest failures with the rebuild was not drafting and developing a good goalie. That's come back to bite us it seems.

To be fair, we have drafted our shares of goalies. Goalies are really hard to get read on.
We drafted 6 goalies last 6 years. That's more than a lot of teams

Ian Scott looked legit but unfortunately he just retired due to injuries. Picked right before Swayman who was convinced Leafs would pick him

I really wanted Askarov but unless you were willing to pay good price to move up, that wasn't going to happen

I wonder if Dorion will be able to keep a straight face tonight. He must be laughing his ass off knowing it only cost him a lousy 3rd and 7th and retain 25% to get rid of that contract. The checker player beat the 3D chess player.

And so it begins....

So Murray to LTIR gives us enough space to reactivate Lily and trade for a ~$3M goalie?

Now if only we had any expendable assets left....

If Murray can’t go on Saturday, the Maple Leafs would have to dress an EBUG or ATO for at least one game. Unless a possible scenario is determined that Murray’s injury is of the long-term variety. That would allow the Leafs to clear up an addition $4.875 million in additional LTI salary cap space and Kallgren would be allowed to suit up as a backup to Samsonov in time for Saturday’s game.

The extra amount of space would also help the Maple Leafs as they would be able to call up three addition players and carrying the NHL maximum of 23 players.

They currently carry the minimum 20 players right now due to salary cap constraints.

Kallgren’s clearance from Friday’s game is a relief for Toronto who could have found themselves in a position where they may not have been permitted to add another goaltender. Already at the 50-contract limit, the only other healthy goaltender after Kallgren signed to an NHL goaltender is 2022 fourth-round draft pick Dennis Hildeby, who is currently on loan with Farjestads BK of the Swedish Hockey League.

There is no leeway on the 50 NHL contract rule.

But for now, Toronto is right up against it and it’s adding another layer in the goaltending storyline that was already hot when the club traded for Murray in July.

is that so?

Dorion's big move in goal Talbot is also injured.

You'd think a team that is going to attempt to have knies sign would have left at least one spot open.
Pro Dubas camp?

After every first round: playoffs are luck we're an elite regular season team.

Injury prone goalie gets hurt with 0 contract slots: so unlucky we don't need to evaluate until the playoffs though.

No matter what happens it's Dubas is never wrong

Leafs' doctors when they did their due diligence on Mrazek and Murray.

Leafs brass for some reason loves players with history of injuries thinking miracilously one of them will pay off

Nick Foligno was coming off a back/knee injury when we traded for him
Nash was coming off a knee injury
Mrazek with a history of injuries
Kase with 5 concussions last 4 years
Now Matt Murray

Hoping it's nothing serious with Murray

1 of our 2 goalies had minor discomfort and may or may not miss one early season game where our other goalie is rested and ready to go.

Might as well pack it up and call it a season.

He’s had a groin issue before, not sure how many times. Have to hope it isn’t something that lingers, but man this sure fits in with all the rationale that Murray was a big gamble.

I think it's more like Hubris. They think other teams medical staff are below par and that's the reason those players were injured often. They flat out think everyone else is just bad at their jobs when it comes to medical issues and hoped to mine that "inefficiency" for talent. That mine is barren Kyle...

It was weird with the Foligno trade, because lots of Columbus folks were saying he wasn’t healthy.

The whole premise of our front office is based on arrogance, we’re going to reinvent the winning formula. I like the moxy on one hand, nothing every changes without a certain arrogance in self, but I found the self satisfied stuff last year, end of year, to be a complete turnoff.

Is it a good idea to start him after saying he had discomfort?

This might blow up in the Leafs' face if he was to get injured even worse tonight.
Exactly. I can’t believe he playing, because an abundance of caution is warranted regardless. Imagine he plays and tweaks it further, somebody’s head would roll. He left practice because he has groin discomfort, to my mind that’s the end of the discussion for tonight, it’s October.
